As some of you know we have been away, the family have been watering for us and have done a fairly good job. I heard about a rainstorm on Monday so hoped the waterbuts might be replenished. Are they ? of course not, the diverter was absolutely blocked with moss so not a drop in either butt. 😡
It just goes to show that you need to check your butt often, @Allotment Boy
Just spent half an hour getting sticky sycamore sh*te off the car. Nearly used vinegar. Apparently that's a bad thing to do👎. WD40 and rinse with warm water is the thing according to Mr Google. It worked a treat. I suggested parking the car across the road for a while. OH insisted parking a few foot away would suffice. I said fine but you can clean it next time😡
Son raised his eyebrows at the idea of WD40 on modern car paintwork because it contains silicon … he says go to Halfords and get Bug & Tar Remover next time.

@B3 in the grand scheme of things, I don’t think 2 tablespoons of vinegar in a gallon of water is going to destroy the planet. Try it first in the paintwork somewhere it doesn’t notice to see if it’s ok with your paintwork.

Oh well. Hopefully it'll have done less harm than the sticky stuff. I've already done it @Lyn. Apparently vinegar affects the paint. I'm afraid I hadn't considered the planet😲

I get frustrated when my wife goes out and insists on parking the car underneath certain trees. The problem is, that at only 5ft 2in, she can't reach the middle of the roof, so that's where I step in.
I've washed it off with soapy water and rinsed. Unfortunately not immediately as my husband drove off to the post office so I had to wait for him to come back. The roof is nice and shiny for now.
