@JennyJ, could a note be put onto your personal account with the chemist to avoid that issue? One charge only......

I don't think I have one. The GP sends the prescriptions from their computer. It's not a "repeat" in the usual sense because the nurse practitioner wants to have a telephone appointment with me each time to check for any untoward effects. Now on 6-monthly after a couple of 3-monthly. And given the attitude of the staff I don't suppose they'd read it. Oh well, they probably aren't paid enough to make much of an effort. Will grit my teeth and remain polite :).

Ah right. Such a shame you're experiencing this though, there really is no need for rudeness.

@JennyJ, as Debs64 said, the new cheaper annual certificate at just under £20 for a year's supply of HRT is well worth looking into.

Hopefully your pharmacy will have the necessary form or perhaps it's online now.

I must remember to tell my daughter the new regime has started.

Someone is conducting reptile surveys on the unbuilt ground around my estate. They've put out squares of roofing felt and corrugated black metal as basking spots and someone comes and checks them now and then. Sadly some genius thought the squares looked ideal to cover the mud on the footpath and gathered them all up. Some poor ecologist is going to turn up next week to find their equipment trampled and caked in mud :|  I wonder about the thought process of someone who saw all those evenly spaced and numbered squares and presumed they were litter. I think it's probably the same person who removed all the large rocks I'd carefully stacked in the stream to divert the flow into the culvert to stop it washing the path away every time it flooded. A well meaning thicko.
I'm not sure of the point of the reptile survey though. Previous surveys have found plenty of lizards and snakes and the habitat improves every year that they fail to start building so the result will just be that more animals need to be 'relocated' if they ever get funding.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

If you want the HRT ppc just Google it and buy online. If the pharmacy processes your repeats they will have your records on their computer and can easily put a note on @JennyJ. I don’t think staff are “trying it on, “the prescription charge goes to the government not the pharmacy and certainly not into the pocket of the staff in any way. As I say it’s easy to get confused as so many HRT products are 2charges. Some are 3!
  • My wife's HRT was three. But she has an annual season ticket for prescriptions, so it's no extra cost.

I get my prescriptions free, being epileptic. I'd rather not have epilepsy, and pay for prescriptions though.

@debs64, I've been thinking about @JennyJ 's post in reply to my post about an account with the chemist and you've just confirmed what I eventually came round to thinking! If the prescriptions are electronic , then, of course, the chemist will receive them via a computer so will, therefore, have an account for her. 🤦‍♀️
