Did you look in the classified section?
    One of life's mysteries!
I got an unsolicited weeding gadget from. Amazon. ( some kind of review scam, I believe) . It was a pile of💩.  Anyway, a removed the wing nuts which were the only parts that might be of use and threw the rest away.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Bu$$er!!! I’ve just knocked a brand new jar of very good mango chutney onto our slate tiled floor … at least the slate’s ok … no chutney to go with the poppadums tho 😢
OH is clearing up the mess 🥰

@pansyface, how very, very weird and slightly disturbing in fact. I wonder if it's one of those viligante groups but how do you get hold of  numerous 14 year old newspapers in the first place?

@Ergates I think your experience of Currys staff trying to flog extended warranties is a pain we have all experiences.  Quite some years ago I bought a video recorder for under £30 in Currys.  The very nice lady on the till asked if I wanted to buy an extended warranty at £40 for 3 years.  When I said I would be better off just to buy a second recorder as a spare she just looked blank.

    That sounds very disturbing @pansyface.
Are you living in Midsomer by any chance.....

    I won't mention Curry's. Hideous company.

I had a message from our surgery this morning simply stating "The surgery is closed due to a burst water main.  If you have an appointment don't come".  Nothing to help those with urgent issues despite the surgery operating out of 3 different premises in different areas of town.  They put the same on their Facebook page and only updated that after 4 hours.  A surgery of that size should have a 'disaster recovery' process in place.  They could have avoided the many panicked questions simply by saying from the outset they were working towards a solution and would update a.s.a.p.  Sadly, that is typical of the level of 'customer service' we have grown to expect from them.

Is everyone else enjoying the nostalgia of the current postal system? It's just like when I was a kid and you had to allow 28 days for delivery when you ordered something. It felt like forever back then too. I've just had some tracking estimates put back another week.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

That sounds pretty dire @KT53. I hate that term postcode lottery, but some areas are definitely worse than others in terms of facilities and service  :/
My daughter's been waiting for a parcel for her sister's C'mas present @wild edges . It was sent out in early November, but the most recent update she's had is from a couple of weeks ago - it's apparently at their depot in Glasgow. Whether it's made it out here to the local depot or not is another matter. The annoying thing is- if it was there, we could just go down and get it.
I have to say though, our postal service here is always more reliable than these delivery companies, who tend to be dreadful. They're only as good as the drivers.
