I know how incredibly difficult it was to get the allowances etc for my boys. Technically I could apply for some type of carers allowance for my youngest, minute pension rise last year, ended up paying£9 a month tax. ,he got his booster yesterday, funny that after being told last year,he would have to attempt a 50 miles round trip on a train, getting a bus the other end.

@tui34 , why did you have to mention home made shortbread? I’ve had a decent breakfast, and trying to enjoy my mid morning coffee, but now my mouth is watering for a piece of shortbread! A boring, dry, chocolate hobnob is not going to do the trick.

Oh, who mentioned chocolate hobnobs? That's not fair

Me, sorry. It was a very poor substitute for home made shortbread. First thing I’m planning to make when I’m out of isolation!

I've had two fat slices of carrot cake. Made with oil and no buttercream cheesy stuff (yuk!) so I'm sure it's almost healthy 😇

MIL has given us some cake made with healthy oil. Even my wife won't eat it and she's got the lowest cake standards I've ever seen. :#

Carrot, courgette or beetroot cake, and iced tea, coffee or soup all fly in the face of nature. In fact they’re not far off devil’s work. 😉

My wife's courgette cake is legendary. It's the only acceptable use of courgettes though.

I've gone right off courgettes since I force fed them to myself after growing a glut a few years ago. Not quite down there with parsnips, but awful close.
