Technology has to have replaced the bendy mirror by now surely? I bet there will be an app eventually that will warn of proximity to electric cars. Even if it's just for visually impared people it would be a great help.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
@B3 , our 15 year old Toyota Avensis still passes the London ULEZ zone should we be mad enough to want to drive into London. Mind you they are talking about extending the zone to the M25 so maybe it's just as well.
Electric cars might be the way forward but I can't hear them. Wear a hearing aid. We have a tall native hedge on left hand side which we would probably not get permission to remove so it's a 'blind' exit. Crept out of our drive this morning very cautiously as our lane narrows to one car's width. Had both windows open so I could listen for vehicles but didn't hear the electric one I nearly collided with. We do have an (iilegal) road mirror angled for the other blind bend on our right which is useful. Might have to think about a double sided mirror soon but doubt we'd get permission for that either.

Hopefully new EU rules that came into force in July will help with the problem your experiencing. Not sure if its law in UK (Brexit benefit anyone) but any car manufacture exporting to the EU will have to comply.
