There's a type of spider known as the Sputnik Spider due to the shape of the egg cases it makes. I found a few in my local woods yesterday.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Imagine having a name like Ferruginous Bee-Grabber.

First time spotting of this butterfly in my garden today!
Argynnis pandora
, the Cardinal.
@wild edges
the Cardinal is a much classier name than your Ferruginous Bee-Grabber.

Really good
@Papi Jo
It's very similar to some of the fritillaries we have in the UK.

Brief test of new equipment between rain showers. Terrible light but encouraging nevertheless.
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border
.
I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

Looking good
@LunarSea
My wallet started twitching at the mention new equipment.
I'm contemplating going full macro and parting company with my big lenses, it's a tough decision because I know that if I do I'll never own a 500mmf4 ever again.
