Is there something wrong with my new felco secateurs?

I'm getting a bit technical here but I would find it very difficult to accidentally catch the loch mechanism with the Felco 9, me being left handed, see pic. Just checked the screw on the lock and it too seems to be painted over. The other screws seem ok but I haven't tried to move them. I'm wondering if it's worth an email to Felco to ask their thoughts on the matter?

Apparently there is such a thing as fake Felcos. https://www.worldoffelco.co.uk/how-to-spot-a-counterfeit-felco-secateur Maybe worth checking.

I suppose so but they were bought in a reputable garden centre
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Should be OK then! Maybe you could take them back there and ask them to have a look. Maybe you'll get a replacement pair.

I'd heard of this last year JennyJ so just in case I bought mine from your link. They were the cheapest anyway.

So did I.  Obviously no cheaper ones (fake or genuine) on Am***n on the days that I was looking! There was a free pair of gloves as well but I gave them away - they were huge.

They've had a long soak in that lithium stuff. They seem ok now but we'll see when they're in use.

  • I was in another GC yesterday and checked their range of Felcos none of them were as much as £70 quid.  The GC in question is very good but not known for cheap prices. I would definitely go back to where you bought them.
