    Good morning all.

Glad you had a better night @Dovefromabove

    It's grey outside, no frost.

Yesterday evening I made marmalade. I'd bought the oranges a few days ago and forgotten them. I boiled the whole oranges in the morning to begin. I started it off on the wood burning stove but it didn't get hot enough so I transferred it to the gas hob. It took a while to get to setting point and I got distracted by reading something on my Laptop. Then, bother it, the marmalade burnt on the bottom. The burnt marmalade tastes fine, surprisingly, had some on toast for breakfast. It's darker in colour than my usual though. The burnt part is stuck to the bottom of the pan. Any tips?

More hand hemming of the new sitting room curtains. I haven't made them as they are long ones for the French windows and I don't have much space for cutting out here, but they are too long. Pale grey velvet. P and N left their curtains here but I didn't like the ones in my bedroom, a modern geometric design, and the sitting room ones are quite flimsy, their cat must have been trying to climb up them.

Will do more log stacking this afternoon.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Good morning to all.

    Warm welcome to @AnnaB!

I felt quite awful yesterday and tested myself twice on covid. Both tests were negative so it seems that I get cold when I was at cottage at Friday. I'm ok now and only have sore throat. Visit to Lidl is postponed to afternoon if everything will be ok. Outside is beautiful calm and sunny, but rather cold.

    Have a nice Sunday!

  • It's a bit frosty here too, but the sun has come out and it looks beautiful outside.  I'll be doing a few unmentionables this morning, changing bedding etc. And this afternoon we might go for a walk.
Glad you're feeling a bit better this morning @Dovefromabove
Have a lovely time with your family @Ladybird4
@Busy-Lizzie do be careful stacking logs.  Depending on the pan.....not non stick... .. a sprinkling of washing powder and a bit of water and soak for awhile does the trick. Or neat well known washing up liquid. That gets stains off clothes too 😉

  • @Chivetalking there's so many programmes on the new washing machine, it's a bit confusing 😂 the couple I use will probably be ok. Must find the one Hazel mentioned though.
  • Oops morning @Ante30 you weren't there when I posted earlier.
Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly. Glad you tested negative though. Take care, have a restful day in the warm. Hope you feel better soon.

Was it Chive or Lily who asked about my OH ? Sorry I can’t remember . He isn’t too bad and does his best to get on with  life .Thank you for asking .Ante sorry you are feeling under the weather . Keep warm and look after yourself . It’s still bright and sunny here .Been out in the garden for an hour .I had five layers of clothes on but the cold still got to me and I have had to come in . A cuppa and knitting now .

Hello all thanks for advice re Leo, will try again but last time I thought he had swallowed he went off and threw it up! I will persevere.
Work was ok yesterday but had a rather upsetting encounter with a young man at the bus station he was drunk I think and got very abusive when I wouldn’t sit next to him and eat pizza. Lots of shouting and swearing. I am a boring respectable middle aged woman standing in my work uniform at a well lit bus station at 6pm. It must be scary being a young girl these days.
I am fine but a bit unsettled and have been up since 5am sorting out the kitchen cupboards.
  • Thank you @Songbird-1  my machine front looks different to yours. Mine looks more complicated 🤦‍♀️ I'll have a look in the book and on the front of the machine.  Hope it has got it, most of the cycles are too long🤷‍♀️
  • Found it! @Songbird-1   Must admit, if you hadn't mentioned it, I would have tought it had something to do with the 'spin speed' 😂
Here's  mine, when it's switched on the black panel lights up....,I get worried I'm going to press the wrong bit 🙄
