I had a good night's sleep last night, thankfully after so many rubbish ones last week 🤦🏻♀️ Looks grey and windy outside this morning. I've got some unmentionables to do this morning too. Then I think I'll have a lazy afternoon watching a film. @Ladybird4 hope you feel better soon. Have a restful day. Enjoy your day everyone, whatever you do.
Oops! - that posted before it should have! Meant to also say:
Welcome to Janet. I'm another cat lover but don't have a cat at the moment. Well not one that I have to feed or pay vet bills for anyway. Oliver lives next door but spends a lot of time here. I think he'd be happier living in a house where he's the sole feline inhabitant and the star of the show. Instead he lives with 3 other cats. He comes here and demands lots of fuss and attention. A real sweetie.
Hugs for poorly LB. A hot toddy and snuggle under the duvet on the sofa for you today!
How's BL today? Hope the cockrell hasn't woken you too early.
Chive - good luck wrestling with the arch. Did you say it's supporting a jasmine? They're very forgiving if you have to chop it back and will regrow very quickly.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Good morning Ruby, Janet, Chive, T'Bird and SGL. Well I have to say that I am glad its not just me the rain elves are visiting today - they must like it here where I am, the amount that I get!
I am intrigued as to how your OH is using your propagator for his brewing Janet. I'm assuming its to promote fermentation somehow?
Chive, I hope that the weather allows you time to sort the arch out. I keep thinking that one dry day I might actually get some more cutting back done. Busy prompted me the other day to get my clemmies cut back - first task on the 'to do' list.
T'Bird, Its amazing how time just slips by when you are actually enjoying being busy.
Janet, when you see us talk of 'unmentionables' this means anything to do with housework. Any inadvertent mention could incur the wrath of Col. Tiny Tank who appears to blast the offender. We hope that you don't mind a bit of levity

T'Bird, the bit you missed from your earlier post wasn't there. It snuckered in. Thanks for your good wishes everyone. I'll be right as rain soon - its just a cold. I'm liking your suggestion of a hot toddy though. Is it naughty to have one so early in the morning I wonder??

@Ladybird4 - yes, the bucket of brewing liquid at the start of the process is placed on top of the propagator base , which is then switched on. It provides a gentle heat, rather than hot which would otherwise cook it. I'm relieved you've explained 'unmentionables' to mean what you mean- in my world it means underwear! But do not fear, I wouldn't dream of mentioning unmentionables in either context as I am much too polite... and lazy!!
LB, sorry to hear that you catch cold. It wasn't me who sent it to you 😁. I had a really bad one, and even today I feel some consequences, slight cough. I'll also sow some seeds and plant my lavender cuttings.
Chive, have a nice day looking for arch. I hope that you will find one which suits you.
SGL, it's nice to hear that you had a restful night.
My unmentionables are finished and I have a whole day to spend outside. It's beautiful sunny day. Many trees are in flower, so it smell divine in the garden.
Welcome @janetfoss. Apologies in advance for any confusion my posts may cause. I seem to use my own slang language at times
It's thoroughly Marti here today (as forecast) so it could well be a full weekend holed up watching various sport on TV.
Had a surprise visit from youngest yesterday (well a surprise to me, anyway ), which was nice.
The bonus blueberry plants that I was sent in error are now all showing various amounts of new growth. So I've got 4 free plants in the back porch. I'll have to give a couple away if they continue to flourish as I haven't got room outside for all of them.
It’s been a rainy day here today. I popped to see mum and dad and then back home. LB I hope you’ve warmed up. Chive maybe doing the arch is better for a dry if it holds. Lily I’m glad you slept too. Janet it’s definitely a day to be indoors. I was only out fleetingly and left the sm shop on hold for another day. Im baking some bread this afternoon as sm bread has been going off very quickly. I have all my layers on today.
Afternoon all. Got the match on - its a bit of a training session though.
Janet, I think you are going to fit in here very well I do remember my brothers brewing 'stuff' too long ago and demijohns of cloudy liquids burping away in the airing cupboard. Some 'stuff' they produced was very palatable. The rest made good metal polish and drain cleaner.
It has never stopped drizzling here today but seeds are organised - once I remembered where I had put them! Busy, there is a chill wind here too. I hope tomorrow is warmer soI can get my pruning done.
Biglad - a nice surprise for you then - I daren't ask about the lumberjack. You could grow your surplus blueberries in containers with ericaceous compost - well the ones you can't find good homes for.
Ante, I can sympathise with the cough. Hope that you have had a great day in your sunny (what's that I wonder!) garden.
RosieBB, it must be lovely to have the smell of fresh bread all the time in your kitchen.

Can't beat owt fer nowt
It's grey and windy in Norfolk too. Don't think I'll be outside much, the wind has a bitter chill.
Yesterday I pruned a climbing rose, Souvenir de Dr Jamain. Four more climbers to prune, but not in this chill.
