Chive good news no fillings needed and less time in the chair. Busy I do like hydrangeas. I have some fabric left over which sounds similar from which I’ll make a cushion. Hazel it will be lovely to have a new sofa. Big lad I’m sure your sister will be pleased. LB I hope you enjoyed your canasta. Your weather sounds like mine yesterday. I visited mum and dad after an sm shop and then back home for tea.
Afternoon all. It's been a lovely winter day here - rather cold (frosty start) but lots of sunshine and no wind. Trip to SM and Screwfix this morning then another hour in the garden this afternoon pruning roses and the like. Trying to do a minimum of 30 minutes outside everyday when it's not wet - usually managing nearer to an hour and a half each session. Everything broken down into lots and lots of little 30 minute jobs so I can tick them off the list as I go. Tomorrow - eleagnus haircut and maybe the elder - I think. Trying to do things that don't involve trampling all over the soil at the moment.
Was a bit naughty yesterday and put in an order for some plants from Beth Chatto (2 x Geranium Eureka Blue, 3 x G. phaeum "Misty Samabor" and 3 x alcoholic mollies). Tried to buy the geraniums last year but they're both fairly new introductions and everywhere had sold out of their very limited stock.
Also bought 5 yews to plant at the corners of the bed where there was a dwarf box parterre hedge until the box moth / caterpillar got to work last year. I've missed the structure of the hedge but some yew pyramids (it'll take a few years to get those shaped and sized up!) at the corners will help.
The 2 nurseries are fairly close to one another so I've opted to have a run out and do Click & Collect on Monday. May pop in to The Place For Plants while I'm down that way - one of my favourite nurseries. Looking for a couple of nice steely blue aconitums.
Sounds like you had a good day yesterday LB🙂. I'm missing The Lakes - nearly 3 years since I was last there😕
Everyone else sounds to have been busy - things are starting to feel more like normal now aren't they?
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Evening everyone, had an appointment this morning & spent the afternoon doing some unmentionables ready to sit down now, LB Good job done putting the air in your tyres, glad you were able to go to Canasta, Busy A good deed done at the church, your table mats sound perfect to go with your curtains it’s nice to have things co-ordinated, Hazel Glad you slept well and what great news on the new sofas arrival next Wednesday!, will they lift the old one out for you?

Evening all. Busy, you sound as if you have been working hard today but that will be a job well done I'm sure - and gratefully appreciated. I've seen those mats on the RHS website and they are very pretty.
Biglad, I'm sure your sister will be delighted with her gifts. Glad you managed to get s tip trip done
T'Bird, that sounds like a great apportioning of garden tasks. Yes, the Lakes were lovely yesterday and it felt completely normal again which was wonderful.
I have to confess to piking out (Ante - deciding not to do what I planned) on going to Canasta today - I felt really chilled and could not seem to get warm at all. Rang coordinator and told her I would be there next time.
Handy brother went to the Estate Agents today but the new owners of Mum's bungalow are only taking the case up there tomorrow so he won't pick it up until next week. The tension is mounting here.
Hazel, you take care of yourself and drop in when you can. Hope the new doors etc. are installed with a minimum of mess.
Signing out for tonight. Sweet dreams everyone and I'll see you all tomorrow.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Chive I hope your app today went okay. I’ve been doing some unmentionables too. I’ve had a lovely snooze in many layers. LB keep warm and wrapped up. I hope the chill soon goes. Hazel do take care and I hope the delivery goes smoothly. Top bird time to put your feet up.
Rosie, I'm glad that you slept well. The smell of fresh baked bread in the morning, delicious.
LB, beautiful photos from few days ago. It's nice that you had a lovely time with your brother and sister.
I had a lot on my mind last week, so I didn't read regularly, sorry for that. Major problems are solved now, so I'll have more free time. It's sunny and a bit windy morning. Luckily, storm avoided my area, so there is no damage on trees in bloom. Now I need tea.
Morning everyone, I slept better last night too, although still a broken nights sleep. Thursday night I only had a couple of hours and felt quite dizzy all day yesterday. Sorry haven't read back so hope everyone is well. I'll join you in a cup of tea too.

Back from the SM and tip, which means that I can avoid when they're busy over the weekend.
Best get the salmon and veg tea on the go before the natives start getting restless
