A bit wet and windy here but nothing to write home about. It already looks like the worst has passed so I might salvage a bit of my day off after all. I think the worst of the storm stayed down south and came at us from a more sheltered direction than usual.
The weather here is changing by the minute. It's now dark, raining and the wind is picking up. The bin lorry has been, I'm bracing myself to fetch the wheelie bin under cover before it gets blown away. I hope you'll be ok, @wild edges
TB was not a Tory, he made the Labour party electable and achieved many amazing things, to name a few: National minimum wage, Civil partnerships, Tax credits and the Good Friday agreement.
Iraq was a tragedy, but I suspect that any other PM would have done exactly the same.
A truly great PM.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

For all his faults, I genuinely believe that we had peak Tollerance when he was PM. ( maybe coincidence? ) Bigotry of all sorts has been on the increase ever since
Blair was the first of the New Labour lot to get his nose well and truly in trough of self interest. They had complained, rightly, about Tory sleaze prior to election but instead of stopping it they perfected the art.

I think Bojo the Clown and his chums are those who have perfected the art of self interest, following the example of their leader
You can't have it both ways. You can't slam the Tories for looking after themselves and call it sleeze and then ignore what Blair has done since leaving office. He avoids tax. Soiwhat is the difference then in having a dig at Tories using offshore companies and Blair using tax avoidance on his companies earnings and property dealings?
It always seems to be a problem - wasn't Scargill driven around in Jags and ended up having to go to court with the union over the Barbican flat he got as part of his office?
The problem is not in the party colour - blue, red, orange or green - power goes to peoples' heads. They end up believing their own press. Boris is just another in a long line.
If you condone Blair, then Boris maybe doing a good job - as if you ignore the bits you don't like and cherry pick, then anyone becomes 'acceptable' don't they? Maggie had her good bits, Wilson, Heath, Blair... but you can't ignore the dross and just say something like '...well, ignoring the lies, he's done a good job...'. No - that just doesn't work for me.
Blair lied. Boris lies. Red/blue it just don't matter.
