We got away without any damage as far as I can tell but the front windows are absolutely filthy.

Touch wood, we also escaped any damage.  I'm sure we've had storms with stronger winds in the past couple of years, so we definitely avoided the worst of it.

So are ours and OH only cleaned them a week or so ago. He's not pleased but if that's the worse, we've been very fortunate. Just had a snow/sleet blizzard quickly go through, must be getting colder out there. Son got safely home to Bournemouth, one large tree down which they were just clearing away from the A36 as he got there and a blown over lorry near Blandford, so he was lucky.

Loads of shops were shut up this way today. Annoying on my day off but I must admit that I'm happy shops are treating their staff with respect and not forcing them to come to work, even if the weather wasn't particularly bad. Loads of schools shut too so the day off must have been a relief to working parents too.

Unwarranted, childish thoughts are ignored at one's peril.
When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

Our seating arbour was attached with metal brackets to huge slates,it ripped one out of the ground with it, one back panel is smashed. The arches hubby made or put up stayed strong,we did whip out and add metal poles to the biggest one. The wind managed to blow the top off a concrete bird bath but it landed on the soil so no damages.

How are you doing the ignore @pansyface? I usually click on the user name, and then use the little 'person' icon next to the message option. When you click on it, it just asks if you want to ignore.  :)

Tony Blair? PLEASE!!!!! We call him CID..... Conservative in disguise.
There is nothing about him that is for the people in any way.... take it from the people who truly have nothing to put in an ISA!
People that have no clue about poverty lecturing on this subject is making my blood boil and confirming that I'm better off on purely gardening threads.

Thank you fairy. You have made my day. Better than a corn plaster any day.😊

@WonkyWomble - it's why I often don't bother with this thread. It seems to have lost it's original meaning, which is a shame.  :/

I think I'm giving a miss from now on along with most of the threads.

    Bewildered by this forum sometimes.

Just thought, in the light of recent criticisms, that I’d spare the world the pain of having to read and hear my views on another thread and, at the same time, spare myself having to read and hear the views of another forum member, so clicked on Ignore and entered the person’s name. Was met with the news that this person “could not be found” and, ergo, could not be ignored.

    Purgatory.

Of course, anyone is free to ignore me if they feel that my thoughts are childish and/or unwarranted.

Ignore you, never. I get to much entertainment from your sometimes very funny posts.

I must admit I have one on my ignore list which is really silly of me when you think about it, but hypocrisy is one of my pet hates and when someone complains about one of my posts and has done exactly what I did and then goes on to do the same again it just irks.
However you've prompted me to try and be a better person and forgive and forget. I've now removed that poster from my ignore list.
