My RTBC today  … the first night of the Proms … Verdi’s Requiem … and that young soprano’s voice … absolutely sublime 😍

@Obelixx , Good progress but very frustrating for you to have to sit on the sofa most of the day. Can't say I'm looking forward to caring for OH when he has his hip done.

@Lizzie27 Hip surgery is generally much more straightforward than knee and recovery quicker.  I've known a few people who have had knee surgery and every one of them has had a long, slow recovery time.  In contrast, my brother-in-law had hip replacement and was pretty mobile within a couple of weeks.  Not allowed to drive for about 6 weeks, but up and down stairs, wandering round the house etc.  Sometimes using a stick and sometimes not.  He's a builder and was back working in about 6 weeks.

Thanks @Lizzie.  Don't worry about OH. As @KT53 says, the recovery from hip surgery is much quicker as it is, apparently, less complicated.   I am fine, but frustrated at being immobilised but it's important to get the swelling down, hence the ice packs and the limited walking tho I can hobble about very well on one crutch when i need to.

Not an Irish jig @Kili but certainly some ballroom dancing.

A renewably sourced, compostable polyester fibre has been produced and will be used by the fashion industry very shortly.  :)

Home-compostable in a "slow" heap? Or would it need to reach higher temperatures like so-called compostable plastic packaging? Either way it's a step in the right direction but I wonder what type of fabric it will be. Some polyester fabrics I find comfortable to wear, others not. I hope it doesn't take too long to get into affordable mass-market clothing, which is where it will make the most difference.
