A quick tour found mahonia in glorious full bloom and
buzzing with bees but with evidence of the flowers being pecked to bits by bird
judging by the number of petals on the ground.
Daisies and speedwell aplenty in the grass plus the odd
dandelion.
Penstemon Rich Ruby, choisya Aztec Pearl, sarcococca,
Shasta daisy, a wee pink flowered plant with clover like leaves and a dwarf dianthus
in the rose garden plus a single flower on The Fairy.
In the shady beds a pink azalea, deep
crimson cyclamen and a corydalis lutea.
No sign of snowdrops or pulmonaria. In the west facing barn wall bed there is a scabious with 3 flowers, a hamamelis with rich rusty
red flowers, a white flowered hebe and a self-seeded borage plus a chimonanthes praecox against the west
wall of the house.
Finally there are big fat buds on a few roses and also on the 2 overgrown
mimosas. Our neighbour likes those for
winter bouquets.

Skimmia and Hebe @herbaceous - very nice too. I noticed a nearby hebe still in flower last week, and there are skimmias in bud. Hoping you're ok too
I forgot about Ivy - I have some flowers on a bit of that, now that it's got to a size where it's arboreal. There's lots of Daphne and Viburnum flowering nearby. I don't grow Daphne [don't like pink] and they're obviously the earlier Viburnums. The local golf course has a bank of gorse that's been flowering for weeks too.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hello folks, Happy New Year to all. I've just scooted round the garden and my total is 22, I'm quite taken aback. The usual suspects of course but most surprising were:-
none of which featured in my list last year. It has been very mild for weeks now of course. I did take photos but on my Nikon camera so haven't downloaded them yet.
I was umming and ahing over the hebe but I usually mix them up with euonymus although I'm getting better since josusa47 explained "Hebe have smooth edges, those of Euonymus look slightly nibbled."
I'm on the mend thank you, I nearly met my Maker a few months ago but - big cheer for the NHS - they brought me back and I am slowly getting stronger and having chemo so fingers crossed.
If I had been at home I could have had a picture of ivy, I leave it for the birds but because I haven't been tending my garden my neighbour tells me she can barely see my pear tree any more!

Hello everyone , ( and thank you @Papi Jo for this thread). Beautiful photos all. 3 below , bud(s) on Julia Child rose , and two hebes. I do have buds on my camellia as well , but it's nowhere near as far along as it was last year ( looking at 2021 thread reminded me i had some full blooms on it then) , possibly because I attempted a tidy/prune a bit later than I should have done.
I've optimistically included some buds, but resisted berries. ^ Bergenia, Zaluzianskya ovata (night scented phlox, which opens at dusk), Helleborus, Viburnum bodnantense.
^ Helichrysum italicum 'Dartington' (curry plant), Heuchera 'Blondie', Geum rivale, Sarcococca confusa (OK, I know calling those flowers is extremely premature but I'm willing them to get on with it!).
