Now if you want a pruning saw while you're up a 15 ft  tripod ladder, I can recommend a Silky Zubat pruning saw. Cuts through Oak like butter and has a nifty sheath with it. But as one of the neighbours said, don't walk down the road with it, you'll likely get arrested.

I had a look at small cordless pruning saws  but they look really bulky and heavy behind the blade. I'm not going to find one with a handle the same  size as an electric toothbrush, am I? Technology hasn't caught up with me yet.something the proportions of a hand blender would be nice.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

@rowlandscastle444 that looks like a variation on the Japanese Hori Hori.  The main difference seems to be the V shape notch at the tip.

@fidgetbones I have the Wolf Tools version of that.  Had it several years and it's still lethally sharp.  It certainly wouldn't be a good idea to try to catch it if I dropped it.

It certainly seems to be, @KT53
That V shaped notch at the tip is useful for levering out stubborn weeds, with a twist.
It's an efficient little hand tool. Mean looking too!!

I have something similar @rowlandscastle444 but for me the serrations are on the wrong side. I would quite like the sawing on the pull rather than the push...if you know what I mean. I am right handed. Mellors on the other hand is on the other hand so keeps trying to pinch it!
