Magic eraser, or something similar? Places like Home Bargains or Boyes often have them.

Thanks Jenny. The one I'm referring to had more of a smooth wedge shape, but it might be the same thing? Wish I could remember!
Have you used a Magic Eraser?

I use the cheapo versions generally. Good for getting scuff marks off paintwork. I haven't tried them for plant labels yet, but I will now you've mentioned it (never thought of it - I use a bit of cif-type cream cleaner and a washing-up sponge scourer).

@LG_ Yes, it was the magic eraser type thing I mentioned.

I changed from 'full size' spade and fork to the border variety because it's much easier on my back.  I'm a 6' bloke so gender and size really doesn't come into it.

Hori hori knife, and daisy grubber, both really handy for weeding, and the hori hori is a good all rounder!

And a good pair of sharp secateurs, can’t beat that!
  • I bought my partner an azada a couple of Christmases ago; she looked at it as if I was bonkers, but it's gradually become her go to tool for all kinds of jobs.
My personal favourites are my cordless chainsaw and a pair of Darlac snips - much easier to prune in tight spaces and delicate stuff, I barely touch my secateurs now unless I'm chopping larger diameter twigs.
I'm thinking my next purchase will probably a hori hori, I keep finding myself thinking "if only I had a sort of knife with a sharp edge and curved blade"!

I have nearly worn my hori hori out, I use it so much.
