Climber ID please?

Apologies for the bad photos!
Between the sweet please and rose...
it has woody trunk and branches, had a handful of tiny white flowers hidden in the middle in summer (was underwatered I believe), beautiful yellow leaves in autumn and is bare now.
Thanks!

  • The photos aren't really clear enough, but could it be 'Russian Vine' (Fallopia baldschuanica)?
See here for pics to compare:

I agree with @BobTheGardener  that looks like Fallopia baldschuanica aka Mile a Minute Vine.

I hope you don’t mind me saying that it’s a totally unsuitable plant for most gardens and certainly not to grow up a house wall. It’ll be up and over the roof and into the attic space in a couple of years and pull the down pipe and guttering down in the next year.

There’s one plant near here which now covers a third of a mile of hedgerow.

  • do these pics change your thoughts?

P.s. I'm sure that it doesn't match russian vine or mile* a minute, thankfully :)
There was a "climbing hydrangea" label uncovered in the soil, but I don't think it matches...
  • These later pics look much more like a climbing hydrangea … much more suitable for that spot. 👍
I’m glad you showed us more photos.

Does it have leaves on at the moment Dangermousie?
SW SCOTLAND but born in Derbyshire
  • No, they went a beautiful vibrant yellow before hitting the ground. They were strong, a bit glossy
  • from April 2nd this year, which tells me the previous owner planted and maintained it... If only that label was still in there
