So sorry to read this @raisingirl. We took ourselves off to the beach for a walk along the beach after we had to have our cat put down at the vets. We should have done it a few weeks before - she was old and really quite poorly - but I had just lost my mum and couldn't face it, so my grief was for more than just my poor cat.
Shower has been really noisy for a few months now, but finally refused to work this morning. OH has now been allowed to take the cover off to have a look, and the pump is jammed solid. New one ordered and should be ready to pick up from Screwfix tomorrow, hopefully OH can replace it easily, so not a big inconvenience. Just rather a painful bill!
Thanks for the kind words, everyone. She has come through a very risky surgery to drain fluid from around her heart. The most likely prognosis is bleak but they are doing more tests to be sure of their diagnosis before we make any decisions. They've said she's much more comfortable than this morning and she's effectively in ICU so getting the best care we can arrange for her for her now. This isn't our first time going through this - nor will it be the last. It doesn't get any easier.
