Hello all … just had a quick skim back … fingers crossed for poorly ones, recovering ones and those at the mercy of repair personnel etc 🤞
I made and froze loads of pastry yesterday,(rough puff for sausage rolls and sweet orange shortcrust for mince pies),  and put lights and decorations around the place.
Today is the day for collecting the order from the farm shop and butcher 🚘
Have a good day all … don’t overdo it … there’s plenty of time left …

Back from 'sco - mission accomplished. There were more workers filling up the carts for the online shoppers than customers so it made shopping a pleasure. One of my favourite check out persons was on duty. A lovely German lady called Monika. Another good excuse for a natter as I was packing up my scanned items.
Snap Chive, I took my turkey crown out of the freezer this morning but it has only been in the freezer for about 6 weeks. I took out the sausagemeat stuffing too. Mouth is watering already in anticipation.

    Hello all.

I hope @Yviestevie managed to sleep and isn't in too much pain.

Yesterday my 2 daughters and families came back here for lunch. I roasted 2 chickens and a load of potatoes, had broccoli and courgettes too and it almost all went. Just enough left for chicken noodle soup. Louise's children hadn't seen my house. The children all played hide and seek while the parents talked and we went out for a walk across the fields. It was a lovely day, but the ground was still frozen from the frosts.

Thanks for your good wishes folks, I'm managing OK.  Had a shower and changed dressings this morning.  Secondborn is coming tomorrow and I'm ordering a takeaway brunch from a local cafe so looking forward to it.  Hubby is helping and we are muddling through.
    Enjoy your day everyone.

  • Early morning shop and back for a cup of tea.  I managed to get Alfie his treats.  Chive and LB you’re both getting organised.  I bought some fresh sprouts which I do like and bought some vegetarian options to try for snacks as the ones I’ve had were really good. I didn’t dilly dally as it was going to get much busier.  Like you LB more staff than shoppers early doors.  Yvie a good idea to order brunch for tomorrow with secondborn.  I hope you slept well.

    Afternoon all.
Sorry for my absent since yesterday morning. I had a terrible evening yesterday, and sleepless last night. When we came home from walk, my dog started to shiver and he couldn't stand on the back legs. I called doctor and we had appointment today at 3 pm. He slightly dislocated one vertebra near tail. He will be well, but two weeks he must have antibiotics. I didn't sleep last night at all. Max is sleeping now, painkillers started to work.
I'll make cup of tea and watch tv.

Oh Ante, I am so so sorry to hear your news about Max. You must be very upset. Thank goodness the painkillers are working and that Max can sleep. I guess you will have to keep him inside and no long walks now until he is recovered. You must also look after yourself. It is so stressful when pets are not very well. Lots of tea and rest Ante.
