Morning everyone, A very thick frost this morning, Brrrrrrr🥶 @Ante30 glad to hear Max is a little better and you both slept well. Good that Max was able to have a little walk, I'm sure he will enjoy sleeping and warming by the fire. @Ladybird4 glad to hear Jack is feeling a bit better, hope the pain eases soon. Unfortunately it can go on for a long while. Enjoy your chat with him later, that will cheer him up. @Chivetalking hope you manage to get everything at the SM. And it's not too busy. @debs64 hope work isn't too stressful and people are kind today. I had a text earlier to say my washing machine will be delivered later today!!!! I've made a phone call to say it arrived Monday! Unfortunately delivery can't be stopped, so I'm going have to tell them when they arrive.....good job I'm honest, I could of had two machines. 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ I'm going this morning to take poppet1 out shopping to buy her little sister a Christmas present. We will also have hot chocolate and cake 😉😋 OH will have to tell the delivery men if they haven't arrived before I go 🤷🏻♀️ @Yviestevie hope you had a good night's sleep. Take it easy today. @Rubee hope you're keeping warm. I've still got a few pressies to wrap too. Have a good day everyone, take care.
My accomplice finally managed to come round yesterday afternoon and we got all of the remaining fence panels in bar one. It's way too wide even after we trimmed a bit off so we couldn't finish the job before it went dark
I need to dismantle one end so that we can trim off a bit more (we got right up to the nails holding the panel together). Anyway, progress at last
Hoping that the blood donation service don't cancel my appointment today (they've cancelled this attempt twice already) and have tightened up on their Covid protocols. The whole process is starting to get on my wick, to be honest. They really need to stop making it such a chore. I'm not sure how to stop the 'reminder' texts but will be finding out. I've had 10 this month, none of which actually mention where or when the donation appointment is
It's very frosty here too. Been down to -5° this week.
I'm glad Max is a bit better this morning @Ante30. I hope he carries on improving.
I've just been mending the desk from Son 2's bedroom, he doesn't want it. It got damaged in the move here, luckily I've found the very strong glue. I want to use it for my sewing machine. I still haven't unpacked most of my sewing stuff. When I moved into this house in January there wasn't a utility room or a study or a decent toolroom for OH's stuff, but there was a double garage. Now there is all that and there are still unpacked boxes in the ex-garage loft. The open barn has had its floor concreted and it's now the car port.
I haven't had time to deal with it all yet as I was unpacking all the essentials, making the garden, and going to OH's cottage in Norfolk.

Biglad, isn't it always the case that the last thing that will finish any job is the one that creates the problems? Hope the vampires are waiting for you.
SGL, I hope that you have enjoyed your shopping trip out with Poppet1 I'll bet that was a very exciting experience for her.
Eek Hazel, that is very late for a delivery - and then you have to put everything away too. Hope that the new glasses are perfect.
Busy, you have had a monumental year and have achieved so much in that time. Great stuff! Has your OH had any further news yet?
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
The two concrete posts behind the shed were the only two that I hadn't measured when the panels were delivered. All the rest were close enough to 6ft wide to force panels in, wedge them in or trim a bit off with BILs chainsaw. You won't be able to see any part of the final panel from our garden - it's a very tight space behind the shed. I can only get in there by shuffling in on my tiptoes (to avoid crucial parts of my anatomy getting crushed on one of those flaming posts )
This morning I've eased off (what's left of) the end pieces of the final panel so that I could saw another centimetre or so off the width. Before I reattach the end pieces, I'll measure the width top and bottom and also the space that we're trying to fit it in. Nowt like starting to do a job correctly when you've nearly got to the end
I was hoping to go back to Norfolk to be with him end of January but the French have tightened up their Covid rules. Can't go earlier as the plumber will be removing the horrid old faulty shower and putting in a corner bath with attached shower, then the digger man will be coming to repair mess the concrete lorry made of the drive.

What a surprise - my blood donation appointment has been cancelled . According to the text, due to "staffing issues". It is progress that they have actually given a reason but I'm pretty close to giving it all up as a bad job.

You've all been busy recently!

Glad that you've had more success with your glasses than I've had with....well pretty much anything
