    Morning all,

No frost here either today. I woke up with a slight headache, which is never a good sign. So I'm off out for a run to see if I can clear it :o

Morning all - very bright and sunny - a lovely autumn day. Only 5C though - so chilly if you're out of the sun.

Hazel - Did you think you'd written something to offend me last night? I must be thick 'cos I can't see what it would have been. No worries anyway - I know you wouldn't be deliberately rude or hurtful🙂

If you are thinking about new windows... I can tell you that ours have made a huge difference to the amount of condensation we get and also how much warmer the house feels - no draughts at all (🤞).

However, top tip here - wait until all the cr*p with Brexit and Covid has settled down a bit more. The saga of our doors and windows has gone on for over a year. Our poor installers (small, local, family business) have been absolutely tearing their hair out with delays and mistakes made by the manufacturers.

The last window installed yesterday was the third attempt by the manufacturers - the first was the wrong design, the second was the wrong colour (although the cill they sent to go with it was the right colour!) - fortunately it seems to be third time lucky. They even managed to get the correct handles - which they didn't for some of the other windows - and they fitted the requested (easy egress) hinges - which they had previously said they couldn't do at the factory. The installers retro fitted them to all the other windows.

A right lash up - and all blamed on supply and employment issues. Seems more like quality control to me. We even had one window delivered with a crack right across the glass. Easy to rectify - but why send it out like that?

Grr - off to the SM now then paperwork this afternoon I think. Would rather go in the garden but it all needs doing sooner rather than later.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Afternoon everyone. Had a very excited handy brother on the phone today and to cut a long story short I am going down to look at a bungalow with him tomorrow. He has been talking about this for some time now and a couple of years back went to look at one which was basically dangerous when the surveyors report came back so he was very disappointed. This one has been completely refurbished so if its anything like, it could just be walked into immediately. I'll be able to tell you more tomorrow.
T'Bird, I remembered about the two different coloured parts to your window last year so its really good to know that you have finally got what you wanted. Hope you have managed to clear the decks of paperwork this afternoon - frees you up for gardening tomorrow!

    Good evening to all.

LB, I'm glad that your brother finally found what he wants. Have a nice time tomorrow. Not only for after 40, sometimes I feel that one band aid like that would be handy. 😂😂

I'm feeling quite well after my jab. Like yesterday, I came home frozen after walk. Still high wind, but sunny.

Hello Ante. Maybe you need a warmer coat during the winters. Did you take your dog for a walk again? It was just starting with a fine drizzle of rain when I went to put some stuff in my green bin.
Fingers crossed that this bungalow is right for my brother.

Hi LB. I have warm coat but on high wind like today it's impossible to stay warm. I even wear hand gloves. I go with my dog twice a day. First at 5:30am, and second time at 3pm. Every time we are outside around 2 hours , more or less. He needs as much walking as he can get.

  • @Ladybird4 no, not seen that funny 😂
Hope all goes well with the bungalow and your brother has found his new home.
Glad all went well with your vaccine @Ante30 hopefully you won't get any reactions.
Thank you @Songbird-1 will Google the books.
@Topbird do hope your windows get finished soon.
Really chilly tonight. Just popped out to the garage, the temperature has really dropped. 🥶

Good evening Hazel. I should be fit but first I must cut down sweets. I love long walks when weather is decent. Today wasn't. Good luck tomorrow with everything, PCR test, alarm guy and other things.

I'll retire for tonight. Tv, book, but I'll fall asleep quickly I think. Wish you all good night and sweet dreams.

Evening all. Ante, you are so right. The wind chill factor makes it feel even colder than it really is. I always wear gloves in the winter as my fingers do not like being cold at all. Handy brother goes walking every day too. Glad you have had no after effects from your vaccine.
Hazel, your day tomorrow is all planned out for you. Are you doing the test because the Doctor wants to see you and wants to make sure you are not positive?
I am signing out for tonight. See you all in the morning.
