Why are printers so monumentally rubbish?

My theory is they are invented/made by the people that bring us electric toasters. Also inexplicably, universally rubbish
Except for our wonderful 2 slot Dualit … perfect toast and wonderful crumpets every time … worth its weight in gold ❤️

I rolled my eyes heavenward when Hubby bought a 4 slice Dualit, but after 10 years, it's still perfect.

I believe the printer manufacturers offer the machine at very low prices to entice the customer in and make their money from the cartridges, which are more expensive than champagne.

I wish the Trading Standards people would open an investigation into the price of printer inks - it's only coloured water after all.

  • Which have raised this issue many times.  The Mfcrs now put in tech to stop you using 3rd party ink or cartridges.  It's a racket.

I find that if you just ignore the pop up warnings that the ink is running out, the printer carries out printing for many weeks after that.

The Met Office have issued a yellow snow warning for the coming week. It's still never lemon flavour no matter how many times you try it. :|
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • Peace and Goodwill to all eh? 😢

I saw that BBC article this morning and it reminded me of the opening to Scrooged with Bill Murray.

I really dislike 'lying by omission'. Raab was on Andy Marr on Sunday and the two big points were Covid/Omicron and the no 10 Party.
Raab did the usual party line bit about vaccinations and also said that deaths were going down. All but implying that the pre-Christmas mixing/partying wasn't having an effect. But isn't it still 'true' - even with post jab hospitalisations and deaths - that there's a lag. A few days before hospitalisation and then a few weeks before death or release in sever cases? So you won't see any effect of the increased mixing in the deaths til about a month after the event that potentially caused the infection. Isn't that still 'true'?

Then Raab summarily dismissed the no 10 party allegations as they were from anonymous, unsubstantiated sources - and - it was a year ago anyway, so why go over old stuff (my paraphrasing). He wasn't there to comment whether it took place anyway. I was just hoping that Andy would ask him if he knew of anyone who had been there or if anyone he knew also had heard that it occurred. I would bet, that IF the party did occur, then the whole cabinet knows someone who attended.
