Thanks Ergates.  It just emerges every year in my strawberry garden bed.  I think it likes the company. 😁

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️

Thank you @Pat E  for that lovely poppy for Armistice Day.

A few minutes ago the sky was a soft lilac all over … but it’s fading fast … thankfully my coffee maker is stirring (see what I did there) 🤣

That’s funny Dove. I have to remember not to say Armistice Day too. It’s taken me a long time to remember that it was changed. 🙄

I contemplated on which to call it @Pat E … this year I decided to call today Armistice Day and Sunday will be Remembrance Sunday. 😊

After all, the whole idea came from the Armistice declared at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month …

That’s why I keep calling it Armistice Day in my mind. I hate it when they change things.

Good morning early birds.  @Pat E and @Dovefromabove   Not that early here!  I usually find myself awake during the night so I read and then try to get back to sleep - usually around 6.30 am (until 8ish) or just get up.

Today is called Armistice here in France.

Perfect picture of a poppy, Pat!!

Dismal again, but the rain has abated.  We had a good dose yesterday so the weeds should finally pull up fairly cleanly!!  A cycle to Lidl for a few bibs and bobs - any excuse now!!

Your paella looks good Dove.  Tripe today - à la mode de Caen - not in the white sauce my mother used to make and my father loved.  OOooarrhh!  My tripe is gently simmered with turnips, carrots, leek, celery etc. with a little tomato concentrate and white wine.  I sprinkle with the dried then fried Padron peppers crumbled over it.

The morning is tumbling away so I'd better get cracking!
    Have an enjoyable day everyone.

A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

  • Ooooh I’m on my way @tui34 … I adore tripe …. cooked in any way. Sadly not easy to find in the UK nowadays. The marvellous tripe and chitterlings stall on Norwich market closed some years ago 😢
