@pitter-patter your path is gorgeous - did you make it? The planting looks very pretty too.
Near me, someone with a fairly worn out crazy paving path has inserted little bits of broken, colourfully glazed pottery in the larger gaps. It looks lovely, little snaking streaks of colour amongst the grey.
@Suesyn it just shows how little space you need to make a beautiful front garden! Of course the lovely house frontage helps 😉.
@Batesadrian are you going to take some photos? I'll look out some 'before' photos of mine (they're not on my phone) to keep you company if you like...

@BenCotto I always look forward to seeing your photos and I don’t find them repetitive at all. Gardens are ever changing: plants mature, they get replaced, they look different from various angles and in various light conditions and seasons.
My garden is still very young (second year) and I’m always finding myself making plans for moving perennials around. Looking at photos of all your gardens it’s not only a pleasure, but also a leaning opportunity. It means that when I finally go out to do some work in my own garden, I get to do a better job than I would have done otherwise. Hopefully.
My small front garden is surrounded by inherited hedging. It slopes north to south and west to east, so I put a big raised bed in to try and give an easier area to work with. The raised bed is at its best in the spring and after June it's not great. The bed gets very dry through the summer.

This is last year; a good, sunny year. Salvia hedge - left. It gets west sun most years. Most often it's pretty shady, but last year the street trees were pollarded so we had full on south sun.
