It's the pixel size that matters I think, not the 'physical size' if that makes sense. I reduce all mine by pixels now. Most photos are in the several thousand size, and if I bring them down to around 1000, that's a good size for the site.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
See,I knew you were a clever girl fairy. Yes, because of course all the pictures I take on the phone are the same physical size. I don't understand why some time the site says they're too big, sometimes,no,don't try to explain. The Weird thing is, I say to my kids show me,tell me, don't do it for me,and they actually can't.
@Nanny Beach have you looked at the camera settings on your phone? It might have an option to set the default to a lower resolution. On mine I have to swipe down from the little down-arrow at the top of the camera screen, click the little settings cog symbol, scroll down and click "Camera photo resolution" then select Medium resolution. That's on a Google Pixel 4a with Android 11, but other makes should have a similar option tucked away somewhere.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
Here's mine this morning. It was planted in the first lockdown, as the paving / gravel / beds were laid in February/ early March 2020. Before that it was a weed-ridden gravel-over-membrane monstrosity with a broken concrete path. We wanted to get rid of the parking space but decided to keep it in case it's useful in the future, but it's mainly gravel over those support grid thingummies so drains well and doesn't look too much like a driveway. It's south-facing and searingly hot in the sun, so I took the opportunity to plant things that cope well with that (and that don't like north-facing back garden).

Found a couple of photos from earlier in the year, when it looked quite different of course. The fence nearest the front door has a Trachelospermum growing up it, I hope it will cover it eventually. It could do with a bit less sun, but seems happy enough so far (I do have to water it). The Narcissi are also fairly highly scented, and there is a Sarcococca settling in the one shady bit.

My garden is weird. The house has a small garden at the front and then, to the side of the house from front to back is the main garden, with very little behind the house itself. So I in effect have two front gardens, both behind hedges for privacy. This is the actual front garden from the gate. What you don't see is the bins which we can see when we look out of the front window. The border next to the path is a work in progress! This is the other front garden: The path in the top picture is to the right of the bed in the right of this picture.
Jenny had a look it's got 4:3 13 mp,that means absolutely nothing to me
@Nanny Beach , is there an option for a lower number of mp? I'm guessing that's mega-pixels so it's the picture size.
4:3 is the aspect ratio, the shape of the photos (a short fat rectangle rather than a longer thinner one like modern widescreen TVs which are 16:9 I think)

I take photos on my aging Lumix DMC-TZ60 the size is usually between 6MB and 7MB.
Some messageboards can handle that size, this one can't.
I upload a lot pictures to this board using the recommended website "Simple Image Resizer." It's not a problem.
They are reduced by 50% by default, but you can choose a lower MB content by using the sliding reduction bar.
Once you've worked out how much reduction is necessary for the camera you are using, then further photos won't be a problem.
In my opinion, this board could do with more photos, they can add interest to some posts which, no doubting their worth as regards content, are a bit like "text messages."
