My mum has asked me to drive to my sister's house because they're all too lazy to carve their own pumpkin. In fairness they were given the pumpkin by a neighbour and now feel obliged to carve and display it but I've got 100 better things to be doing with my own time than driving all the way there for that. I'm tempted to carve a rude word in it, leg it and hope they've calmed down by Xmas.

Middle o’ t’road,  you were lucky, our shoe box was down a dirty drain. And I bet there were more living in ours than yours.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • Am I the only person who doesn't like Adele.
    Nope..

She was good once. Now meh!

Would have been better for her to retire and live off her millions. Why do people try and come back long after their talent has waned? It's often not the case that they need the money!
  • Can you not accidentally drive over the Pumpkin as you arrive and park your car ?  Otherwise, a bit of judicious knife work whilst claiming dyslexia may do the job you have in mind  ;)
I've often wondered when seeing the huge Pumpkins for sale at this time of year, do those who carefully carve them for Halloween actually make use of any of the flesh to eat or is it just discarded ?
  • Southerners doing the four Yorkshiremen sketch. That'll do! 😆

There's already piles of pumpkin flesh dumped up the woods here, including one that someone dumped right in the middle of the path. I'm not sure why people here think it's a good idea but every year loads gets dumped up there. Nothing eats it as far as I can see. I'd rather carve some squash. Better shapes and better for food.

I ordered a book on Ebay last Friday from a UK seller with 8 distribution hubs, it was shipped on the weekend and it's due to arrive on Thursday. An order I placed on Etsy is being shipped from Budapest today and is arriving tomorrow. I'm not in any rush to receive either order but I'm always curious how some places manage to deliver so quickly.

I once ordered  a drive belt for my mower at 5pm on a Friday evening .
"they come from Germany, but it should be here in the morning"
10.20 the next day I had a call to say it had arrived.

  • It could be that had false stock and it needed to be ordered from their supplier and bright in before dispatching it or they ordered it n to be sent direct from their supplier in neutral packaging and documentation. Either way not all eBay sellers are honest with stick levels.

I work for a company with an ebay business account. We make sure our stocks are actually above what we have listed on eBay with the ability to make more the same day if needed. We got accused of the not in stock thing recently but its not that it's couriers late delivery that's causing our customer's issues. 3 day free delivery takes a week in the UK right now. I can see how a uk dispatched item and an eu dispatched item could take similar times.  The eu travel stage probably isn't the hold up. Unfortunately we have to be patient with couriers and online orders.  It's nobody's fault in the supply chain we're all doing our best.
