Just a change of subject. Has anyone had trouble getting repeat prescriptions lately? I've had lots of " temporarily out of stock " emails from Lloyds direct , and a friend has just said his local pharmacy was out of his regular meds.
No problem so far, but I do also ensure I always have at least 2 weeks supply when I request the repeat from my GP. I could never understand how a lady I worked with would allow an essential medication to get down to the last 2 or 3 tablets before reordering.
Re prescriptions, just been to Boots to collect ours. Overheard the lady at the front of the queue being told that they didn’t have the dose of the medicine she had been prescribed, and there was none at the supplier either. The GP wanted to up her dose of thyroxine from 50 to 75, but they only had 50 or 100. They advised her to ring round a few pharmacies and if no joy, go back to the GP for advice. I felt a bit guilty as I then collected my supply of 25s, especially as this is a starter dose and I’m sure by the end of the month, when I can finally get a blood test, they’ll up my dose to at least 50. I’ll have to hand onto the 25s for when they increase it again to 75! Sounds like problems at the suppliers as well as the pharmacy branches.
If this is an oral medication and 25 and 50 doses were available, why didn't the pharmacy just give the lady 50 and 25's to make it up to 75??
Could it be a delivery driver problem, my son delivers to schools, pharmacies and care homes as well as private addresses, who wants to drive 250 miles a day 5 days a week. Obviously no one because there are job vacancies.

Well I'm having a moan. My energy bill just jumped up by £30 a month. My account is also £45 in credit due to the last couple of months being charged at a much higher rate than they should have been so it's masked just how much it's risen. My water bill has dropped by £10 though even though my usage has increased thanks to supplying the building site next door. Sounds good but I expect it will rise by £15 on the next bill due to debit that will build up now.
Second moan is about review websites. I was looking for a recommended product and a reputable website offered one of those '10 greatest thing you want' lists. After reading through it though it was all Amazon affiliate linked products that they didn't seem to have actually tried but just read the fake Amazon reviews
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
@Kili it's also definitely worth trying your local Age UK if you have one. Ours offers a falls prevention service and provide donated disability items. I don't know that they offer any equipment that might help for your particular circumstances but they can certainly offer advice.
Hubby moaning not exactly shouting, came into bedroom, light on! It was 6am when I gave up and got up, so God knows (phone just typed "bless him') e r,NO!! what time he actually came in,enquired, our dog had apparently p**** and s*** "everywhere",he was checking the bedroom. Me, maybe 25 years of night nursing, would have crept in with a torch! Was talking to my daughter on the phone yesterday evening, said dog was standing by dog flap, occasionally I lock it, checked it was fine. Didn't think anymore about it. He wouldn't go out of it. I put him out this morning at stupid 0 clock,he wouldn't come back in it. No idea what's going on there!
