    Seriously?

    My heart bleeds...

..and as for that vile bint Edwina Currie on the radio yesterday. Maybe if she'd spent less time bonking John Major and doing a proper job, she'd be in a position to dish out advice about people who are struggling to live.  :|

Honestly ... you'd think they'd have a bit more nous if not more common sense and empathy, let alone a sense of timing for the good of their own party.

Smacks of 'let them eat cake!'

Just love Andrew as well. Looks like his defence isn't that he didn't actually do anything wrong and is completely innocent, but it appears that he will rely on the fact that the girl involved signed an agreement that absolves third parties from any liability. Prince Andrew for King I say. '..The queen is(n't) dead (yet), long live King Andrew...'.

Now we know the reason for the incompetence of our government. The 'desperation' caused by poverty is bound to be a distraction.

I'm on a fixed tariff til next July - so I've decided to store gas. I've bought bulk packs of balloons and I'm going to fill them up with gas now, while it's cheap. I've space in the freezer, so I'll freeze some to keep it fresh (I don't want to lose any of its calorific value). I even toyed with the idea of sealing the garage and filling that up with gas - maybe I can fill the house as well? I'm hedging. Does gas go off?

As long as you test that it's still fresh every now and again with the aid of a lit match @steveTu , l think it will be fine.

That solution looks very much like something I saw on FB post.  Supposedly originating in the southern states fo the USA it went something like "Fed up having to boil water every time you need it.  Boil in bulk and then store in the freezer until needed" :D

Aaaaarrrggghhh. Just listening to another minister talking about Boris' plan. He spoke (see earlier post) about higher pay by increasing productivity - he gave an example of automating a warehouse. Good so far. In his example (apologies if I misquote numbers here - but the principle remains the same), the old, non automated, warehouse employed 2000 people at £x, then automation comes along and the same warehouse employs 1700 people at £x+. Grand. What happens to the 300 people? Where do they fit in the equation? Where is the real plan - if you automate everywhere and you use AI - who is left to work? What benefit is there to a working man, if all the jobs are automated? Who owns the wealth created by a business that is fully automated? How does that wealth filter down? Why didn't the interviewer challenge this obvious hole?
Imagine Uber. They have issues with drivers. I bet Uber can't wait til fully automated cars are allowed on all roads. Even better if they're electric. In that one (two?) move, what do taxi drivers do? What about mechanics? What about petrol station staff? What about the drivers who deliver the fuel? What about the refineries? What about the tankers that move the fuel? Surely planning is trying to look at the knock on effects of what you propose and then addressing those issues - not just 'automate - that's the answer'.

Bad morning for news for me obviously.. I'll have to stop listening to Radio 4 and move up to CBeebies...

Dehydrated or concentrated water will take up less space. You only need to dilute it to taste.

Sadly gas goes off very quickly. Especially when it gets a bit hot.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
