I might be wrong, but does that LEH appear a bit green at the stems?? I believe they have a reddish/ maroon-ish tone...
and what have you underplanted them with?

Okay ignore the previous comment.. it starts off green(had to go back to my bare root pics from last year) before darkening in colour :)

@cooldoc phew! Underplanting is 2 winter / spring pansys in peachy shades and 2 peachy primroses to fill till roses get going. Theres a handful of tete a tete bulbs in there too. Ill move them elsewhere in summer.
Edit; these, primrose husky peach schnaps and pansy matrix sunrise (not my pics!) I think (or peach shades forgot which!)

Managed to get the new roses in yesterday, and I didn't plan to as I had other stuff on and it was frosty first thing. Also managed to knock a good cane clean off Global Beauty with my trug filled with JI3 :# .

Global Beauty is also called Candlelight which I rather like and another yellow from same order Our Rose, I noticed is also called Sunny Day.  If I remember I'm going to use those names :)

Yes, @Marlorena BdJ was probably the thorniest beast in the order and I'm glad you said that as I had it closer to the front of border than was probably necessary so when planting I put it closer to the fence.  @pitter-patter's BdJ put out an extra long cane in its first year so I thought I would experiment and see if I could use it as a bit of fence cover.

I didn't authorise rain today as I wanted to get out and plant some new perennials so hopefully it picks up later. On the other hand, after a mishap during Storm Arwen where my water tank launched itself against the two largest butts, sheering the taps off and emptying them, I could do with catching a few more drops before spring.

I’m still waiting for a ‘nice’ day to coincide with me having ‘time’ to do some jobs in the garden! At least I’ve managed to move the pear tree back to the allotment.

I’m hoping that DA release a really interesting red rose that’s suitable for a pot. That would be my ideal.

and yes I actually used the ‘R’ word in a positive sentence 🌹 😮
