@Our_Garden_Our_Home. I had something similar to yours a few years ago which my son was going to throw away. I decided it was going to get another chance and planted it on its own elsewhere. If you have the patience to wait it could reward you like mine did with some lovely blooms after some considerable time.  :)
  • @Pianoplayer , I asked @Tack the same question late last year , then couldn't find the pots in stock. At the time , longacres had different elho pots ( algarve cilindro with wheels, still seem to have some) in stock and cheaper than the link above. Not as nice as Tack's ( in my opinion) but serviceable, I bought some 48cm ones.
Kindness is always the right choice.

@Fire how does Etoile dH for you (BTW, yours is beautiful) Do you have it in full sun? I was interested in it because I’ve read that like Falstaff and Pink Cloud it is one of the more shade tolerant roses out there. Is it true?

today I was taking out weeds, but then i thought that it might be better to leave them during the winter and take them out in spring. Maybe they can help in keeping the roots warmer. Am I wrong?
I would try to remove weeds as soon as possible. They only grow in number or bigger if left. I don't get time to do this though.

    Hi All,

Apologies, I had no time to step out but I've been reading and enjoying everyone's beautiful roses.

@Imprevu and @Nollie - Thank you very much and finally I am looking forward to get hold of my 'The Prince' :) . They do ship to UK, I've placed an order today and I have been told the roses will be sent in two days.

For those who are trying to access dewilde.nl, It's true that UK IP is blocked.

There are few options and I have used all of them today.
    1. The website link works for Belgium VPN and you can place/pay order through website.
    2. Send Email to [email protected] with your rose list and they should help you to place the order.
    3. Phone  - 0031575546810 for the order and assistance. For the payment they can provide IBAN account details.

    Good Luck!

@Rojas that’s great news, finger’s crossed it makes it over the channel. They will be mystified by the sudden flurry of orders for it from the UK! I placed my order on the 13th and it’s due to arrive on the 20th. Actually, confession time I actually ordered two of The Prince as I am keen to try one in the ground as well. I also ordered an Etoile Violette clematis from them to replace the Warsawska Nike climbing up my wisteria as it needs something larger and more vigorous there. The smaller WN will be moving to a 5ft wigwam in the East rose border.

I very nearly ordered another couple of old Austins, they have several no longer available in the UK, but stayed my hand due to existing rose overload!

Just a reminder, The Prince needs a warm, sheltered spot and some initial support, as the young canes are foliage are fragile and easily be shredded by the wind.
