    ..thank you !...

    ..well, my garden is winding down now, so unlikely to have many more photos this autumn, I'll enjoy everyone else's who has late bloomers...   lots of rearranging to do, as usual..

    Congratulations @Marlorena, hope you enjoy your tree when it arrives.

    This afternoon I planted a Potentilla 'Glamour Girl' an apricot one, near my two apricot roses, Penelope and a newish unnamed rose. They are on a 3ft high raised bed/bank so while I'd got the stepladder out to get up on the bank, I thought I'd just tidy up the Penelope rose which is against the retaining wall. Noticed a very thick basal had wound it's way behind the trellis without me noticing so had to get down and fetch my pruning saw. OH came out to hold the stepladder for safety, I climbed back up, sawed the basal off with some difficulty concentrating hard, only to find that OH had picked up the loppers behind me and had cut another big new thick basal off, trying to be helpful. Of course that was the one I'd wanted to keep! Oh well, I expect it will grow again. I was surprised also to find that Penelope had thrown out three very long 4 ft or so long canes which would have made the rose about 10ft high, definitely well out of reach so I pruned these by half as well, rather reluctantly.

    ..one of the better Hulthemias I think, very nice isn't it?
    @Tack
    .. thank you.. oh I will have one or two maybe, hips etc. but I'm an early pruner and tidier up'per..  this is a busy time too, I've been out today and dug the hole for the tree already and moved some perennials and divided those.. lots more to do.. even after all these years I still make lots of mistakes and they have to be rectified before winter.. ..always planning for another year ..

    oh thanks @Lizzie27 !..  sorry about that cane... OH's mean well.. lol..

    I will probably end up with eye of the tiger out the front. Very curious to see how the new climbing hulthemia Ive ordered does next year! They seem to do well in my soil and spots not far from the others so If its even half as nice as the rest Ill be happy.

    @Fire those are both lovely. Im grinning at the turning the garden over comment, Ive just given up and just accepted mines very much a 'rose garden' with 50+ in it by now.  I absolutely love them and With a good 6-7 months bloom out of them i'm ok with that, Ive got spring bulbs and my ever increasing number of hellebore for when they finish and plenty of other bits for underplanting ;)

    @Tack @Omori I particularly like the bloom shape of ORA.
    Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
    And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

    Glad I'm not the only one doing lots of rearranging, seems to be a regular occurrence this time of year.

    @Fire Life is short, go for it if that’s what you want? You could interplant with pollinator friendlies, underplant with bulbs, etc.

    Yes, that's my thought. I was awake at 3am trying to figure out how to fit in new roses.  I'm getting to the point where RRD is always a problem as everywhere is currently close to a rose. I might have to plant every new rose in a wine box...  Hmmm.
