Anyone else seen this? Do you have your heating on at night then Fire? Mine would also be a maximum 18c during the day,(went to a friend's,she was in a t shirt, south facing lounge, sun blasting in, heating at 23.5, thought I would pass out!) I have it on a while in the morning if it's below 15. Got a digital thermometer. I turn it off if the sun is pouring in,when I go out,it's well insulated, stays warm. Goes off at least an hour before I go to bed. A comfortable sleeping temperature for me is 12c. We didn't even change to the winter duvet this year. Grandkids stayed last week, they have heating on a lot longer and higher, usually moaning it's cold here. They had the window open I went out early Friday morning, bought them coats, because they didn't bring any. Ended up on the beach, taking their sweatshirts off. This is the temperature now, inside and outside, perfectly comfortable with a jumper on,no sun today. This is in the conservatory, the actual bungalow is 2 degrees warmer on average.
This was always what was envisioned - its the reason smart meters are needed. Balancing the supply and demand is central to the whole net zero strategy for the UK
If an energy company want to install a Smart meter ( electricity only ) in a domestic residence, is the occupier legally bound to accept this or can they refuse the change? Thanks for any relevant info.
Our heating is gas powered but we have a wood burner in the lounge for the evenings so I switch off the rads in there in the evening ( they aren’t big enough anyway). Heating is on at 7am off at 9.30. ... back on at 7pm till 10pm. That seems to work pretty well. we moved from a 3 bed semi to a 4 bed detached a year ago and our kWh useage is down 52% for gas and down 22% for electricity which I’m very pleased about given the outlook for fuel prices ! (Great to be in a house with better windows and insulation 😁)
@Fire I would have thought London would already have down that. They clamped down on so much when they brought in the clean air act, they had to be strict to try and get rid of the smog (pea soupers)
