    @Fire ... and very appropriate for you ;)  ... it makes me think of fiery sunsets or even of the colours of the flames of the dramatic fires in Australia the other year that my cousin's family were caught up in.  The colours are amazing, more fluid than the camera shows, and show up beautifully against the very dark foliage ...... it's also very floriferous ...... an absolute showstopper.  :)

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    I'm looking for some very tall (6-7ft) dahlias for next year - in similar colours - russet/amber/reds....

    Dahlias can seem a bit of a faff to lift or mulch or cover over the winter, but are such good value plants when they get going. The cut flowers make the best bouquets for friends, which always raise a 'wow'.
