    hello

They are, from top to bottom:
(should be) Crème de Cognac (Although it doesn't look like it!)
    Procyon with smaller Fancy Pants)
don't know (this was a small one I bought in a pot from B&Q at the end of the season a few years ago and nurtured back to life. It's overwintered twice without help.)
    Fancy Pants
    Show 'n' Tell
don't know (bought 3 years ago and label lost in year 1)
Ditto and I am not sure it came true so hard to identify
    Fireworks
Blue Boy, I think... (could ee Thomas Edison. The colour in the photo is not quite accurate and they are similar.)
    Akita
    Babylon Bronze
    Fireworks ( I think...)
    Totally tangerine
I also grew Vancouver, mambo and sunset shades

They are all in pots. Procyon was from last year and overwintered in a bubblewrapped pot, as were the second two unknowns. I am now going to have to decide whether to de-pot or bubblewrap. The latter strategy doesn't always work. A couple from last year didn't make it.

I think this is one of the Collarette Dahlias.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

Thanks. I have a vague memory of it not coming out as I expected when I first had it, but this is how it is every year. I find that dahlias quite often don't come out quite as it suggests they should on the 'packet'!

@REMF33 it could be ‘Mary Evelyn’ (sometimes spelled ‘Mary Eveline’)

    Fantastic dahlias all!

@celcius_kkw and anyone else, do you think Cornel would be ok grown in a large pot (29 litres)? Or perhaps Gypsy Night would be better suited? I’m after a red/dark red pompom dahlia for next year but only have room for one in a pot.

  • If keeping in the ground is general GC compost best for covering the Dahlia's once they are cut back?
