sounds like a perfectly reasonable contingency plan.

I'm still working from home so haven't bothered with the car for months. I hope sanity has returned next week because I've got to take it for it's MOT but if not, too bad. It'll sit on the drive

I was just looking for greenhouse staging on the Ikea website and it recommended that I look at 'shortcut buttons'. These are apparently buttons you fix on the wall that are programmed to talk to your smart stuff. For example when you leave the house there can be a button by the door that switches off all the lights in the house. Presumably you then run off giggling like a school girl while your wife fumbles in the dark to turn them back on again. But anyway one use they suggest is to 'set the mood' IE dim the lights and play some Barry White over your smart speaker. Wasn't this the sort of naff crap that was controlled by a clapper in the 70s? There's also an option to put a sticker on the button that depicts the use. Sadly they didn't show what the bedroom intimacy setting sticker looks like. It's probably a photo of Austin Powers :#
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I wonder what folk would say if the media DIDN'TĀ  report on fuel shortages?Ā
" this is state censorship! We should have been told about this"Ā
Some folk just love to winge and blame everyone else and never look at their own actions.

But its not a fuel shortage, but HGV driver shortage. The media don't even report the real story as that doesn't align with their Brexit mentality and the fact that tens of thousands of EU drivers left.

Being a hideous pedant, if there are insufficient drivers to get fuel to the pumps, there IS a fuel shortage. ( it's just in the wrong place , sitting at fuel depots and refineries )Ā

Lets resort to slave labour again and send them back at Christmas, I hope they all refuse to come.Ā

They already are @Lyn. Quite right too. Being treated like scum.Ā
    I agree - if it isn't available to motorists [ie at a pumps]Ā  - its a shortage.Ā
Or are we supposed to drive to the nearest refinery with a fuel can or a bucket ? Smashing.Ā
I wouldn't even have enough fuel to get to the nearest one and part of the way back.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
