How can people be so downright selfish?   I hope there’s some sort of blacklist they can go on so that they can never rent a holiday cottage again. 😡
    They were probably smoking indoors
    You’re probably spot on 🙄 😡

How awful Dove, that’s the reason why I don’t offer strangers  my flat for holiday makers,  you just don’t know.😱

Par for the course nowadays with all the manky people 'staycation-ing' @Dovefromabove :/
    @Lyn - yes, I've noticed that...new 'move'. Don't rise to the bait.  ;)

No petrol round here. Central belt's knackered apparently.  My younger daughter fortunately filled up last Thursday, just before the stupid folk came out in droves. She can't get to work without a car. One of the managers there has a forty five minute drive, so he might not be working soon...
The lunacy of some of the stories that have just been on the radio, not to mention that environment secretary [Eustace] and his claim that there's no shortage. Yes we know that, but it isn't where folk can access it. What a clown.  :s

I can suss a person out by their posts Philippa,  you two are welcome back anytime you like.
Still haven’t got a dishwasher though, I’m afraid it’s a bowl of water and a pair of rubber gloves. 😀

Apparently the guests who left the next door cottage on Saturday left all the windows and skylights wide open. Not only did banging doors keep us and the folk the other side awake last night, but when the people arrived this morning to prep the lovely little cottage for the new holidaymakers arriving this afternoon they found rainwater everywhere… rugs are out in the garden,  dripping … water is dripping through the ceiling and wet-Vax and dehumidifiers have been brought in.

Hopefully there will have been a deposit against damages in the original booking.

I doubt a deposit would come close to repairing the damage though @KT53    :/
It's the same as deposits for rented properties. £500 quid doesn't even begin to touch the damage that gets done to  properties, and even double that will barely make a dent.

Friend of mine had their property trashed by a manky besom. Didn't come close. Fortunately, her dad was able to do a lot of the DIY for her, otherwise it would have been around 2 grand to get someone in.

The point being made by an MP is, for once, accurate.  There is no shortage of fuel.  This is an artificial situation caused primarily by 'the media' who love nothing better than to create a bad news story.  Did anybody have a problem getting fuel before this story broke?

  • FairygirlFairygirl Posts: 55,117
No they didn't @KT53, and we all know how stupid people can be, but he should have been more honest about the situation. If it isn't in a petrol pump, it's no use.
There are lorry drivers unable to get fuel - in order to deliver the fuel.... :/

I wonder what folk would say if the media DIDN'T  report on fuel shortages?
" this is state censorship! We should have been told about this"
Some folk just love to winge and blame everyone else and never look at their own actions.
