Allotment Boy said,  Some racing engines use pure Methanol (Ethanol with a bit of meth to stop people drinking it, speedway bikes being one example). It is high performance as it carries some oxygen in it, but the mpg is terrible.😆
Getting the grass cut a bit quicker is tempting......but maybe not!😬
I live in what is part of a pretty big 'area', with a huge variation in population and wealth. We apparently have 2 police on duty at any one time to patrol/cover it. Smashing. Unless someone's murdering you in your bed, you've no chance of getting someone to come out. Re - imitation and flattery. We had neighbours who copied everything I did in a previous house, and just changed the colour. When someone else asked them outright if they'd copied me, they totally denied itÂ

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
JennyJ,my late mum used to say that. In the ,,70s I had a neighbour copy my decor, then in the 80s, then the ,90s and now. It really p**** me off. Specifically when they give me their friends the "guided tour" raving about this and that, which they wouldn't have of it wasn't for us. They do it on the cheap tho,and my old man is a perfectionist!!!
If you think you’ve got a prowler and are worried, phone the police, tell them problem then say no need to rush, I’ve shot him. At least 6 cars and umpteen policemen will be there in a minute.

I filled up Saturday night as I didn't have enough to get where I was going Sunday. Tesco Toton had no fuel. Asda Long Eaton had no fuel. Tesco Long Eaton had only half the pumps working, and a police car with two officers watching over proceedings. Sunday I had to get past two petrol stations, one had traffic queuing both ways on a side road, so causing chaos, and the Tesco metro on the ring road in Nottingham, had people queuing in 3 directions, including over a traffic lit crossroads. I thought I would be delayed getting back , but all the petrol stations I passed were empty and closed. Today the M1 was shut all morning near us. Someone had died in a pile up. It puts it all into perspective.
Indeed @fidgetbones. I can't understand the mentality. There was a woman on the radio phone in yesterday who was very distressed because her husband is dying, and she was worried about getting enough fuel to get to and from the hospital. Long story short, people offered help, and she was back on the show today, to tell the story. A private garage/petrol station co. got her to come in [they had her reg no.] filled the car for nothing, and told her to let them know if she was struggling again before things get back to some kind of normality. A truly lovely outcome. Good advertising for the company, but still - they could have taken her money. I hope people remember that later on, and support that petrol station, instead of heading to TescoÂ
I've heard that round here too @Lyn. Several people have told me that over the years.Â

@Fairygirl. I heard that as I was driving in today. Most of the roads snided because of the diversion for the M1. I was late. At least I got there in one piece.
