Had a good nights sleep for once, and woke to the sound of rain, and the news of two more gold medals. I’d have called myself a very peaceful and non violent person, so why is it that I’ve always enjoyed watching boxing? If women’s boxing had been a thing when I was young, I might even have been tempted to give it a go!
We are stillĀ moving furniture around to different rooms, and getting clutter ready for the tip, so will be an inside day today. It’s a very gradual process to avoid damaging already fragile backs, knees and other weakened areas.
I have been meaning to tidy and repot all the kalanchoes which have been banished to the garage window sill. Might do that today, but it will mean a dash to the shed for compost. Been putting off going out there, as there is an enormously fat black spider in there that I’m keen to avoid!

Lots of furniture moving here too @Ergates but after painting the walls and giving the furniture a good scrub.Ā  Exhausting stuff but worth it in the long run.

While waiting for furniture to dry we're having a good scrub in the annex too cos OH tells me Bonzo - 30 k of Labrador - was ill at both ends last night and I don't trust his cleaning standards.Ā  I put his bed cushions out to air and we had a downpour!Ā  Not as forecast.

On the other hand, it is lovely to see the raindrops on teh leaves all sparkly in the sunshine now.

Dog bedding in teh washing machine @Nanny Beach.Ā  Ā Ours may follow today or tomorrow depending on those big black things overhead.Ā  Ā No dryer.Ā  Don't like 'em.

  • Hello everyone , I still read the threads and try keep up with everyone virtually ... just had quite a lot to deal with concurrently -- no individual thing is a crisis in isolation but been feeling very overwhelmed by the onslaught so not up to posting much. Hopefully light at the end of the tunnel in September sometime. Best wishes to all that need them, good luck to @punkdoc with a suitable solution for MIL , thinking of you @Hostafan1 and @WonkyWomble hope the back is better. @D0rdogne_Damsel I feel your pain re your business, and apologies to anyone having problems if I have inadvertently omitted your name.

Perfect conditions @raisingirl ... warm, wet and a swirly wind blowing blight spores around ... and lots of lush foliage for them to land on grrr!

    Good morning all.

@Dovefromabove, sorry about your tomatoes. P (previous owner of my French house, who is looking after it while I'm in Norfolk) has told me that all my tomatoes have died from blight too. It's been a cool wet summer in Dordogne, good for my new flower beds though.

Cool, cloudy and windy today. Just had a hot chocolate. Decided not to visit an NGS garden today. Rain forecast this afternoon.

Oh! There is a big male pheasant on the patio looking in through the dining room French windows!

Looking forward to seeing Dove, Didy and Topbird on Wednesday.
