I find I often like the budding stage of flowers best. This hellebore looks almost like a rose bud or a tulip. It seems to me the the whole plant cycle takes a long time - to sprout, to bloom and to die back. The sepals look good for so many months. A bit similar to the long cycle of moth orchids. Slow motion flowers.
I find the insides rather alarming and alien. But moving to see something brand new to the world and never seen before. Fresh and untouched.
And you just can't stop Wallflowers from flowering at any time of the year
I was flabbergasted when my wife told me she'd found some flowering wallflowers in the garden. Ours are a similar colour to yours @LunarSea Surely this is the wrong time of year!!
