After a wet couple of days, the sun is shining here again. The garden has clearly loved the recent weather - everything is growing at a real pace. Especially the stuff that I'd prefer not to see more of
Just spent a good hour trimming back everything growing on/over the back fence from NDN's garden. They've got a deep border thick with trees, holly, laurel and ivy so probably can't see the fence never mind everything they've got growing into my patch. I'm calling disposing of their excess foliage as my good deed for the day but no-one will ever know
Thanks @Hostafan1 - will definitely try that. (Sorry - this was from a few days ago, have been reading back). We have had great success with our sweet peas this year. The first few pickings were bug-free but there are thousands of the beetles about now and we are still getting a good sized posy every day of sweet peas. Lathyrus odoratus, 'More Scent' if anyone's interested - predominantly white but the scent! Mmm, heavenly. Just realised haven't checked in here for a few days - congrats to littlest chicklet @chicky, glad dental work not too bad @Dovefromabove, lovely pics @punkdoc. Hope everyone else's knees and various other ailments not causing too many problems.
Things here have stepped up somewhat - I seem to have taken it upon myself to research what tourist leaflets we need as we improve our tourist offering in the town and have had loads of quick coffees with various people, chasing up original artwork for various town maps etc., researching costings on the internet, having zoom meetings.. Not complaining - I love getting stuck into this kind of thing and as the weather has been so uninviting and the garden not too bad after the work I did for the garden open day have quite enjoyed myself. The garden open day raised over £1,000 for the library and Falcon Meadow (a community endeavour which prevented the meadow next to the river being sold into commercial hands).

Brilliant news!

I don’t watch football but did have a peep when I heard wild cheering from the neighbours…I wondered if they’d found an instant COVID cure or something and there was a newsflash. Apparently no.
Busy work day. I can confirm there is a direct correlation between me having a canteen curry lunch and the emergency bleep going off. It’s happened several times now 😡😂

That is absolutely fine with me @Obelixx
