My old man said this morning it's done nothing but rain. Gross exaggeration we've had the odd shower, mostly evening or night. He's now watering, and 'complaining" in Sarf London speak, about the hose kinking up. We paid a lot of money for a supposed non kinking hose.

Does he spin while he's watering?

I sympathise with him about the non kink hose.  I bought one and it's by far the worst I've ever had for kinking.  I wonder if the name was a typo and it should be "Nine-kink hose"!

Was supposed to be over my dear dafter's place today to see the her (well, not really to see her, but her new'ish baby. Now there's a goof paternal model for you.). My son (who's still at home) was going to pop up with me - even though it meant he had to be out of bed by 9am on a Saturday. He was up bright and early surprisingly - and was just about to jump in the shower when he got a text from a lady who he worked at the pub on Thursday to say her husband had tested positive for Covid and she was just popping down to have a 'proper' test. Bum. My son, dafter and SIL have only had their first vaccine anyway. So no trip to see the little pink bundle of non-sleeping, non-stop pooing, fun. What the heck eh?

..no great shakes is it really? We've all been lucky in our family so far, so no point risking that - and given the number of photos my dear dafter takes and puts on Google (other photo storage repositories are available and are better - especially hosting your own) - it's as though I have a second by second run down of the little one's life anyway. A proxy grandad you could say - and a proxy father, husband, brother. I am proxy by nature now I think.

Covid 'pinging' has gone nuts.  Why doesn't it tell people where they supposedly were when they were pinged?  Bluetooth can have quite a range and it would be entirely possible for somebody in a pub garden for example to be in range of somebody inside but with absolutely no contact.

@steveTu. Predictive text seems to have a thing against daughters 🤔

When the app first appeared I tried to get that facility added (there was a technical - 'contact us'). I assumed that they would have the location and points details of each 'confirmed' contact and it would of benefit to know where you'd been close to someone and how long you'd been in their company (given that the app worked on 5 min intervals and each 5 mins earnt points up to the 'ping' limit). But either it was too complex to implement, not of necessity or that I was some brain dead idiot.
