I've just found one dead bumble bee on the lawn and another dying. Some arsehole must have sprayed them.

It's taken me a week to get hold of a completed form for DWP to get end of life help.
I've had to wait 42 minutes on hold to DWP because nowhere on the form does it tell you how to get it to them. No address, no email.

Ack! Just what you don't need at a time like this. Hang on in there - we don't really know each other but a virtual hug to you anyway (sorry, that's not very curmudgeonly is it?)

    And so it goes on.
Just had a letter from my mental health support worker.
She's leaving her job and there is nobody to take over her caseload, so I'm being "discharged" from the service as of today.
Just as well I don't need any support right now eh?
    Devon.

Hostafan1, that would sadly just seem to be symptomatic of the problems the NHS is experiencing.  People leaving, staff having to isolate etc.  Doesn't make the situation any better for you, that's for sure.
Different situation but my brother-in-law has been given the runaround lately too.  He had a severely swollen elbow and managed to get an appointment with his GP.  He was given antibiotics and, when the swelling hadn't improved at the end of the course, he tried to get back in to the GP.  "No appointments.  Go to A&E" was the response from the receptionists.  Went to A&E only to be told there was excessive wait times and, if it wasn't an emergency, either come back next day or call 111.  He called 111 who were initially going to get an on-call doctor to contact him.  He explained the situation again and got an appointment at another hospital the next day.  Doctor there says it's not infected, just tennis elbow and it will recover by itself.  Fast forward 2 weeks, swelling worse and now hot too.  He actually went to the surgery and demanded an appointment.  Seen following day by GP who said it's infected and he needs antibiotics (that's what he tried to tell the surgery when the original ones didn't work).  Also told that if this course doesn't fix it call 111.    The circle could be starting again.

That’s the way of it, I don’t know if it’s our area but seems its not changed in the past 6 years, I thought it might be better now.  The only way is a phone call, or that’s how it was, don’t suppose it’s changed..
This will be the most the most frustrating time of your life, just when you think people should be available  to help, you feel as though they’ve all deserted you and that you are completely alone.

It has to be a bit embarrassing to be excessively revving your Aston Martin while doing a 3-point turn in front of a building site and then stall it and grind the gears while pulling away. The builders are too busy with their barbecue to jeer though.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Maybe you should have gone on the bus instead, @wild edges and left the Aston Martin at home. Or were you just taking it out of your drive?
