Evening all. Had a great day at Bestie's which did involve a LITTLE bit of gardening there. Just a nice, chilled out sort of day. When I got home the P.O. had put one of their little red cards through the letter box to say that there was a 'pkt in the blue bin'. This is my paper and card bin so I wasn't unduly worried. Turns out it was my two clemmies - Clematis jouiniana 'Praecox' and Clematis heracleifolia 'Mrs. Brydon'. Very impressed with the standard of the plants. Then I made the huge mistake of turning on the tennis and I turned into a couch potato for the remainder of today - so far.
I do have to say ladies that the insertion of a V shaped pillow into it's case sounds like a wonderful upper body workout. Busy, I like your more *canny way of carrying out that task!
SGL, happy birthday greetings for oldest small poppet person on Saturday. It sounds like its going to be a lovely long weekend.
Debs, count to 10 and breathe. The clearing job had to be done and admittedly you have to live with the upset longer than expected but it will be worth it in the end.
Biglad, that decimated marigold reminds me of a saguaro cactus. The cyrils have had a field day there!
Hazel, its good to hear that you are finally content that everything is now taking shape as you want it in the garden. You can kick back and relax now.
Yvie, I'm sorry to hear that you had to curtail your holiday but it was probably the right decision to make and I hope you can get the physio sorted very soon. To my way of thinking, there are a few painful things that can make the whole body feel wretched. Not in any order but: backache, earache, toothache and headache being the main ones.
* Ante: canny in this sense means clever in a slightly cunning sort of way.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Agree LB, they are all sort of nagging pains that wear you down. I've got an appointment for Monday. If she gets a cancellation tomorrow she's going to give me a call. My usual young, tall, dark, handsome, Italian physio has moved and it's too far for him to come now.
Yvie! What a disappointment for you. I've got this picture of your new physio as a clone of Rosa Klebb of James Bond connection. Fancy your fit Italian being too far away - such a shame. Hazel, those clemmies are not climbers so will go into the border. They are herbaceous perennials. They are fairly bomb proof too.
I'm signing out for tonight people.

Sorry about your back Yvie .I hope the physio can sort it out for you .Glad that you had a good time with Bestie LB .I hope everyone has enjoyed the sun . Signing out see you tomorrow.
On the cusp of the midnight hour Biglad. I think its time for you to put your feet up and watch the tennis today - you have an even more important match on Saturday!
Good morning all. Looking forward to my lunch today. My Bestie and I did decide yesterday what we would be eating - but we haven't seen the 'specials board' yet!

Good morning LB and all to follow. Happy Birthday Rubees oh 🐣. Have a lovely day. LB how lovely to come home to find your clematis and healthy. Yvie I hope you will soon have some physio and find some relief.. I use piroxicam for my back Ache. It’s a gel and it does ease it. LB a chilly one this morning. I was up at 5:45am way before the alarm which I duly switched off. Have a lovely time today and I hope your lunch is delicious. Sticky toffee pudding, fab. I’m visiting the rellies this morning so up early. Time for a cuppa. Hazel I’m glad that your garden has come together after all yours and oh hard work. Anyway that cuppa.
Good morning all. Dry and sunny here so off to allotment after phone consultation with doctor then gardening this afternoon. I bought a new rose at DA yesterday, of course! I have a large pot for her, The Poets Wife. Also got lots of moving stuff and weeding etc to do.
Hello all 😊 a busy day yesterday including baking a fruitcake as dear niece and two of her uni friends visited … bless them they’d all taken Covid tests before the visit, and they sat out on the terrace while we sat in the studio with the big sliding wall open. Then there was tennis to watch of course. Lots to do today too … must do some cutting back in the garden, plus digging spuds and picking beans … need to get on with some studio work too … and more tennis 🎾 have a lovely day everyone 😎
