Good afternoon everyone. @Dovefromabove we don't often see you on Rez but you are very welcome - especially if you can spare several buckets of water for our thirsty gardens! All this talk of casting clouts - not done any of that yet but I have resisted flicking the heating on.
Ruby, fingers crossed for a good review for your OH on Thursday. I forgot to ask my sis-in-law about her results - must text her.
Hazel, what day are setting off to your Mum's? Hope you have finally got all the packing organised. How on earth did you forget father's day? I expect that your mind was on other things.
@Biglad you've got until 16:00 to do any chores necessary.
RosieBB, I'm looking forward to the tennis final too. Fingers crossed for Cam.

Hello @Ladybird4 :)  we have more than a few buckets full to spare .... if anyone has a tractor and bowser we could probably fill a small swimming pool ... or a wildlife pond at the very least ... I daren't walk across the back lawn, I might sink in the quagmire ... thankfully it's pretty free-draining gritty soil here so it will dry out when the rain stops ... it's just the waiting ... drumming fingers on workbench ...

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

My garden was like that every day through May. I must be one of the few people in England who has an underwater pond when the rain is at its most persistent.

Hello all! Just got back from Hen do, a good time was had by all, cream teas and drag queens and cocktails and bacon sandwiches at 2am.
Feeling very tired, I think a nap is in order.
Fiancé has had 2 weddings this weekend pity the poor brides with this weather in June!
I will pass on the football thanks but happy to come along and cheer you all on.
  • A good tennis final at Queens, our man gaining the second set through tie breaks but out played by Berritini.  Norris though now seeded for Wimbledon.  A promising career ahead for both.  Debs I’m glad you’ve had a good time.   The bacon Sami’s will have been welcome

    Hello all.

It has rained a lot here, big puddles on the roads. But I'm not that far from @Dovefromabove.

    Hen do sounds fun @debs64.

    Lovely lilies @Ante30.

We went up to north of Norwich today, 1hr 10 drive, for my Day 2 Covid test. The site was on an old Airforce aerodrome. Had to activate the test, girl said we could do it on a Smartphone. We both tried and it said no Internet so I did it on the computer at our cottage. Bit complicated, and it wouldn't accept a French postcode for my French address so I did my French address with the Norfolk cottage postcode. It wanted the address here and the address in France. I've had 2 vaccinations and a negative Covid test on Wednesday, will have to have another Covid test in 6 days, quarantine for 10 days. Seems a bit overkill, especially as the French daily cases are now well under the UK.

Then I watched Episode 2 of Finding Alice. I'd tried to record it in France but it missed 2 episodes. I hadn't realised what it was about, found it almost unbearable because of memories of 1st OH.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Phew but its warm and sticky out there now after a coolish start. I do hope that there will be some more sunshine this week as my Bestie is away on holiday now. She is at Pine Lake near Carnforth - just off the M6. Its gorgeous there but I can't see her doing any waterskiing.

Hello there Debs. Very happy that you had a lovely time at the hen do. I hope there weren't too many sore heads today.
Gosh Busy, what a palaver. I have to confess to not having seen Finding Alice but you are right - best to leave it alone if it is too upsetting to watch.

RosieBB, I thought that it was a fair final and a few unfortunate shots were Cam's downfall. Its interesting to watch how tennis players evolve. I'm talking particularly about the men now. When the up and coming youngsters are playing they just want to slog the tennis ball to and fro from the baseline - waiting for their opponent to make a mistake. As they get older they become more cunning and start to mix up their shots, introducing slices and drop shots making their opponents wear themselves out chasing the ball. It did make me feel that summer was here though and a week tomorrow when Wimbledon starts, even more so. Hope you are all having lovely afternoons whatever is being thrown at you weatherwise.

    Afternoon all,

Back from reffing and slumped in the comfy chair. It was too warm for me. I'll probably drop off watching the football.
