I see from a report from our local park that we currently have 26 identifed types. I don't know how they exactly differentiate between flutterbys and moths, but there we are. Reading this forum, 26 does not seem that much, but I guess it's decent for an urban space.
We've had a shortage of butterflies up till now but I came home from a night away today and the hebes are covered in clouds of small tortoiseshells. I think they must just have hatched. Lovely!
I've been pruning a very large bay tree today and little orange things fluttered out. I assume they were moths as they were lurking in the dark but I don't know
