Good afternoon everyone . I have done for the day it’s tropical in my garden . I made a rudimentary hedgehog house this afternoon . A planter cut in half vertically and popped on its side ,put lots of straw and twigs inside. I was absolutely filthy when I came indoors .Showered and in my lounge suit now ,wondering what to have for dinner .I get very lethargic in this heat .Ithink dinner will have to be salad . Watching tennis from R G Paris .
Lovely animal photos, Hazel. Meercats look so cute.
Son 2 rang and said I was to go there for lunch and meet Charles, even though Daughter 1 wasn't going to be there. I took the sausages that we would have had tonight with Daughter 1 and family and Son 2 BBQ'd them. He didn't want any veg or salad as he'd bought lots too. Maybe I'll make veg soup for lunches. He too had bought strawberries so he didn't want mine. I have 2 punnets of strawberries and 2 of raspberries.
Anyway, Charles is cute but he slept all the time, he'd been awake a lot in the night.
Daughter 1 has asked me to stay with them next weekend. They can't come here as they have a couple of appointments. She wants to show me her roses, she has over 100. She also wants to see me before I go to England.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hazel, my old cats used to drink out of the skanky birdbaths when I had put down lovely fresh clean water in the house. Lily doesn't drink out of the birdbaths but she does drink out of the pond.
Ruby, your hedgehog will find your little summer house on its wanderings.
Busy - what a super little cutey C is. (How lovely that you have an invite to stay next weekend. Mind you, you might get chance to hear his lungs then!) Ignore this please.
D'oh I am definitely losing the plot! Baby C is Son 2's baby not Daughter 1's! Sorry Busy, I think that the heat has scrambled my brain!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning my friends. I'm finally here after exactly two weeks. I sincerely hope that you are all well. Many things happened since then, mostly positive. Rain finally stopped last Saturday, and it was my last chance to plant potatoes. I done this in one day but still feel slightly back pain. Jobs in the house are also over (photos later), and it's such a relief. Now is time for tea.
Lovely to see you Ante - and the gorgeous picture of the lily. Good morning to you and all to arrive later.
I am so happy to hear that all your potatoes are now planted - what a marathon job that must have been! Jobs in the house finished too. Its all sounding good.
