Why have I kept over two decades of bank statements and utility bills, guarantees and manuals for things that were dumped decades ago? Statements and bills are gradually being shredded but I need to let the shredder cool down - often. I can't bring myself to dump manuals for old tech. The manufacturers were so proud of the state of the art kit! They're historical documents for me anyway. Even now I find instructions for a video recorder I don't even remember owning fascinating. Shredded paper here can be recycled in a paper bag. Who's got a paper bag that big? I'm thinking of burying the paper in the compost heap. What do you think?
Yup,our shredded paper,(, I do it monthly,) goes on the compost, what is the temperature in London then,? My daughter used to live in Catford, said it was warmer there, thought you had a micro climate going on
Bogging football. Yes yes I know it's all very wonderful and all I have to do is not watch it, as is so often pointed out. Thursday, main story on the news, there's going to be a football match on Friday. Friday main story on the news, there's a football match this evening. Saturday main story on the news, there was a football match yesterday and nobody won.
Most of my ‘paperwork’ is now on line but if I do want to dispose of sensitive stuff I sometimes dunk it in a bowl of water, scrunch it up into a tight ball and put it aside to dry.
I believe in France it is a legal requirement to keep things like bank statements and cheque stubs (remember them?) for around 7 years. Perhaps our France-based members can confirm this.
When the filing cabinet gets too rammed I have a periodic cull, a practice I encourage Mrs Cotto to follow in respect of her wardrobe. It’s like feeding strawberries to dogs.
I've decided nothing before 2019 will survive. Previous decade. Pre covid. I'm on 2010 at the moment. Keeping tax type docs. There's this bid oak ottoman under the television. It's rammed with paper. A little less rammed after today's depredations I tried soaking shredded paper once. Nothing happened.

Heating is on . I decided that it's only going to get colder tonight.. Also things including my knees feel a little damp.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgh
I'm binge watching the Crown and avoiding the news. Hoping nothing actually happens in the world that I might want to know about.
Sorry.
I feel better now.
As you were
Weather's miserable, isn't it?
