    Just twist them loosely together and keep rubbing off the buds that you don't want lower down the stem. Tie it loosely with twine if it won't stay together and remove the twine when it's trained. You could weave in some of the other stems too and then you'd have denser leaves at the top sooner. Cut off the very lowest shoots too.
