Latest goings on from my strawberry/rhubarb patch - one of our feathered friends appears to have lost a bit of a scrap Smaller feathers everywhere and a large one impaled through a rhubarb leaf.
Debs, it is easy in uncertain times to find changes challenging and upsetting. It must have been so nice for your daughter to put your mind at ease by approaching things logically. I think we all have a family member or friend who can do this for us and by sharing worries and concerns we lighten the burden.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Another lovely day. Just been out to open the cold frame and there is a chill to the air but I am sure it will warm up later on. We are the same with the garden. No rain. I went out last night and watered my potatoes and Rhubarb.
Yesterday, i was in B&Q and at some point in my visit i go to the nearly dead shelf to see it there is anything i can rescue. I did get something. I got a big Camilia for £7.50 and already after a good water and popped in a big pot with Ericaceous Compost looks better. I am just deciding where to put it. I also spotted a basket with a sign, please take one. Inside packs of onion sets. So I took one. They have been popped in the ground too.
Hopefully all ok today with your job Debs. It is rather unsettling when there is change.
Good morning Biglad and PR. Those feathers may have come from a woodpigeon, looking at the colours and scale of the wing feather. Its incredible how it impaled the rhubarb leaf. PR, what an excellent bargain that was. I always look at rescue plants because I feel so sorry about the efforts made to produce them and hate the thought of them just being scrapped. I know that inevitably this happens to loads of plants but if I can rescue one I'm happy.

@Biglad, I'm guessing that you will be pleased that all 6 British teams have pulled out of that breakaway European league. My brother was on the phone this morning expressing his pleasure at what he had suspected may happen.

You're probably spot on @Ladybird4. NDN feeds a large number of pigeons so there are a lot of them around. I'm guessing that one has bumped into one of our many feline trespassers Â
Didn't take long for the greedy bar stewards to get a rude awakening did it! Those who own the 6 shameful clubs will now be encouraged to move towards to the exit doors. Good riddance! A completely unnecessary, dreadful idea
Good morning everyone A very misty morning, but the sun is shining too. Looks like it could be another beautiful day. Its very strange Ruby how our garden can be so boggy and in such a short while it's now bone dry. But gave it a good watering last night. @debs64 hope all goes well at work today and you have a lovely time with your sister. Pilates day again for OH Have a good day everyone, take careÂ
I ordered a garden chair which should have been delivered this morning .A message from courier saying it had been damaged in transit .I am getting a refund .I don’t want  a chair that could be flimsy . I have ordered another more substantial one .I hope that arrives safely .
I've just come in after 2 hours in the GH - its too chilly to garden outside today. Everything is looking nice and healthy. I am still waiting for my yellow rhodie to flower - it seems to be taking ages. I think it was Debs who wanted to see a picture of it??? I also need at some time to take a 'before' shot of my little border I want to widen - I haven't forgotten but if I have it written down here it will be a good reminder! I hope everyone else is having a nice day. SGL, my second covid vaccine is this Saturday too.
p.s. I'm glad that the damage was spotted before it got to you Ruby and in a way, it was good to find out that the chair might not be too strong. Good luck with the second one.
