I have had another very busy day in the garden today - going slowly and steadily as my left knee is still painful. Lots of seeds now emerging and the dormant plants in pots are shoving their noses above ground. I've planted out lavender cuttings that I rooted last year and also planted out my two blackcurrants into their permanent positions. The soil was nice and easy to work so I was able to remove some large creeping buttercups and other weeds that seem to like the bottom end of my garden (the bit that was under water a month or so ago). I filled the peanut holders on the shed and I have pulled my first rhubarb of the year to make a crumble. Speaking of 'first of the year', today I saw my first swallow. It was lovely to see and joins the house martins I saw last week. Summer is on its way.

It was an absolute cracker SGL. Best programme ever. I have just had a call from handy brother. He was out chatting to his next door neighbour but one who offered him a can of beer so they had a really nice time - obeying all the rules - and putting the world to rights. This NDN told handy brother that his wife had had a letter inviting her to go for her covid jab. The thing is, she has been dead for seven years. The gentleman in question, luckily, was able to laugh about this letter but just imagine how he would have felt if she had only just recently passed away. Some big mistake there. I wonder if this has happened to anyone else.

Hazel, remember thinking at one time that the seedling I found might have been Sorbaria, well I found loads of Sorbaria suckers popping up everywhere in my garden from one I removed last year! I still think your I.D. as a rowan is the right one though

    It certainly was @Ladybird4
Oh goodness that's really sad and would have been absolutely awful if the person had died recently. I would imagine it's probably not the only time.
@Songbird-1 hope you've had a restful evening and you have a good night's sleep after such a busy day. Take care.
Seems quiet on her today,  we must have all been busy in the garden.

Hazel, I have done exactly that today - suddenly ran out of steam and felt bone tired. I had finished what I wanted to do but couldn't have done anything further. I too am signing out. Night night all and I'll see you tomorrow.
Good Evening All of You Good evening messages Good evening Evening

Good morning all. Off to see youngest daughter today to have a day in her garden. Got to help her keep on top of it while she is busy with Thomas. Fiancé is planning a day out on his motorbike he finds it relaxing and he is back to work on Wednesday.
Work was ok but new bosses won’t pay overtime all extra hours just have to be taken off instead. That works for me if a full day Saturday means a full day off in the week but not if it’s given back in odd hours here and there, an earlier finish or a later start. We are having individual meetings with the area manager mine will be later this week. She is very irritating unfortunately and rather inefficient. Not looking forward to it. May need a rethink of the finances with no chance to earn extra cash I may need to do some shifts as a waitress with fiancé once weddings start. I suppose I should think myself lucky to have my job I am not the only person in this situation. Feeling a bit stressed though so time in the garden will hopefully help.
